Complete Waste of Time...

I went to the insurance place to get an estimate.. talk about a waste of time. The guy that did the estimate was probably trained by a monkey or something. My cars frame is bent and rear quarter is bent in and his idea was it just needed to be pounded out... I couldn't believe it. The total estime was 1,922.50. My *** is all I have to say to that. I am going to go get a real estimate and I hopefully get my car totaled!

Dude I highly doubt that dent can be simply pounded out... Less that 2 grand of work when they are gonna have to repaint the whole back end, and fix the frame? Insurance company's suck and they will always suck while we have to have insurance...

Insurance companies suck. Take you car to a couple restoration shops and tell them you want it done correctly. That should take care of the totaling thing.

Not just the rear end, but the whole car. Since the nose was damaged, they have to blend onto the hood and fenders, they also have to do the roof since it is part of the rear end quarters, also they have to blend onto the doors and trunk lid. That equals a complete new paint job.

Oh, and I forgot to mention one thing! The front is sooo messed up that the passenger side fog light only sticks out half way! Like the front clip is sitting an inch too low. I plan on telling them I want it done right, and I just noticed this today, the entire back is sitting lower, the hatch is sitting 1/4th inch above the rear!

Yeah, take it to a body shop to have it estimated. The two places I went for my fender both gave estimates of around $2500. Yours sounds way worse (I haven't been around lately, so I didn't even realize your car got wrecked! ) Good luck.

I had some as*head hit my truck as it was sitting in front of my house and the Insurance paid $1600. All I needed was a new bumper and a small dent removed. You should be looking at 3 grand no prob.

Doug, what insurance comapany do you go thru? Remember Michael's 300zx? Well, hes got State Farm, he was up in Tacoma, and some idiot wanted to get into the lane he was in (in a full size van)

So, you go from this:

To this....

But, he got $3500 from it. Hope you take the car to a body shop like everyone else suggests. Good luck man... and, Ill keep an eye out for a T/A for you

At least mines fixed now (except it needs paint) and it only cost $21.50 plus a few bucks for paint and primer.
