Help w/ diagnostic
Hey guys, I need to test my fuel pressure to make sure my fuel pump is working right. Is it worth the 40 some bucks to buy one, or is there another option?
Thanks,
Douglas

Doug,
Depending upon how much you are into the engine will determine if you really need one. Why do you think you need one? I have one. If you really need to, you are welcome to come down to Tacoma and then we could plug it in an see what psi you have. However, I would buy one. You can get a cheap one at Harbor Frieght for about 25 bucks. What is you car doing to make you beleive you need your fuel psi checked? Maybe we can resolve it on the board?

Doug is getting a couple of SES codes indicating a Lean O2, IAC over +/- 125 rpm of the desired RPM, and low fuel pump voltage IIRC in a technical post.
I recommended that Doug find someone local with a fuel pressure gauge to test the pressure from the fuel pump and hopefully a scan tool.
Doug, the invitation is still open if you want to take a drive to Kamloops.

Okay, just gotta make sure not to blow up my car by then
I think if I keep the gas tank as full as possible (fill up every day) I can minimize any problems from a weak fuel pump, being I seem to have most of my problems at under 1/2 a tank on the gauge.
If not, the LT1 swap happens sooner then expected....
I'll see the next day I am free after the 9th, with school and soccer I am pretty busy, but I normally have almost every other day off.

Doug, Is you car still drivable? I have this whole week off so if you and Jes want to come down to hook up my fuel psi regulator, let me know. I thik Thursday would work for me. I have school that night and need some time to study, but i have the entire day off. let me know. email me. And sorry to hear about your car
No, the car isn't really driveable anymore... with the back end and front end smacked up and the other problems I am gonna to force the insurance company to get my a rental car until my car is fixed or totaled.
Doug,
I was looking in the classified section and noticed a really nice 89 Firebird or ta? 59K miles on her and ran a 13.9 in the 1/4. I Think the guy was asking 4100 for it. Sounds like a good deal. It's silver and all the way in Texas. Just thought I would let you know.

I've got one too (which does me absolutely no good since I no longer have TPI!) which you are welcome to use, but since Craiger already volunteered his...
