http://www.coatesengine.com/

this is a kewl concept. i here that he makes them for 350's and 302's. i have no idea of the cost of them, but they would be kewl to have on a SBC.

Look closer, it's actually "rotary valve", even though, it's still not a new concept. Just one that hasn't been fully explored.

The use of those heads eliminates the camshaft and the valve train. Bolting up a set to a decent 400 Hp 351W produces on the order of 800 Hp. There's no coolant needed in the heads and they are self lubricated. I contacted Coates a year ago about these heads when I had my Vette. They were not making them for anything but industrial applications. I also wrote them about two weeks ago and I still haven't heard back from them.

yeah i don't know much about them i read the page and can gasp the how they work, and why they work. but i did hear that they make them for SB fords and chevs. i went to the link from there page to popular hotroding, and you don't want to know the price tag. something like 12K a set, but that artical was a couple years old, maybe thay are a little cheaper. maybe not.

I stand corrected. I took a brief look and thought they were DOHC.
