Yardsale

Thanks to Duck straightening out the "for sale" issue I'm going to go ahead and post some things for local sale.

It's easier to list items already spoken for so here it goes.

1983 Z/28

Gone already:
Interior
Tranny
Motor
Rear End

Left:
All lights
Glass including Defrost hatch
GFX
And anything that won't prevent the car from being rolled on a trailer.
Also have some red interior pieces and other misc little items.
Let me know what you are interested in.
Prices range from cheap to free.
Anything nobody takes is going to sit in my garage and add to the clutter.

Taillights in good shape? Front turn signal lenses also?

I'm guessing this is for your buddies free RS? Taillights are unbroken or cracked, but if you look at the from certain angles they are slightly discolored in a couple areas. It's hard to explain but it's not bad if you just need functional taillights. I think it's from the rust from above washing down over the tailllights. The front tun signal/parking light will not fit the newer cars. I'm not sure of the change over but this is an '83 and has the small lights. The side marker/turnsignals in the fenders are fine though and they'll fit.

He ended up ordering a set from the mainland before I could tell him about your parts car, so nevermind. Sorry...!

I'll take the fenders if they're still there.

Oh, retract my earlier remark - he can't get them from the company he had tried ordering from, they don't ship to here. Do you still have the tail lights...?

Updated list -- July 27

Stuff Duck needs:

Cat hanger [big rubber one near the front of cat, mounts on frame with metal ends].

Driver side salt/pepper black seat.

Driver side door handle.

Leff and right side door rubber moldings.

ThirdGen A-arms

Stuff Duck is giving away or selling on-island:

Driver side seat, 87 Camaro, tan, great condition [$20]

88-92 3rdGen Serpentine kit [support mounts, brackets, pullys, idler] does not include reverse rotation water pump required when upgrading from earlier V-belt systems, or newer style AC compressor with serpentine pully [$100

Free -- 10 quarts Klotz 2-cycle racing oil [for anyone who has doubled their 4-stroke RPM limit by converting to 2-stroke] heh...

Free stuff will be tossed soon if nobody wants...

Does anyone have 91-92 firebird/trans am body panels, plastic bumpers, etc?

I'm sick of looking at the dents and dings all over the place. I guess I have to look into doors too.

NIB T-Top Bar from GM never used - $75
NIB T-Top weather stripping never used (door and tops) - $50
Good Condition Glass T-Tops - $50 both
Scratched Lexan T-Tops - $50 both

Poor RS ....

T-top bar? Is that the black-painted metal thing that runs underneath the t-tops, but on top of the frame? Mine is looking pretty sorry, if no one else needs it...

Thats the one. They usually get rusted after the weather stripping up there starts to fail. This one is NIB never used.

9 bolt stuff is gone, but have some free stuff...

New Richmond 3-42 gears in 10-bolt '92 Camaro disk rear housing. Posi works, but differential needs work, take it away, no axles or brakes.

Free -- New Richmond 3-42 gears in 10-bolt '92 Camaro disk rear housing. 28-spline Posi works, but differential needs work. No brakes or axles, includes parts and bearings from Summit, parts cost about $300. Take it all away

The whole "pinion bearing" episode was like a bad dream, every step of the process became a nightmare worse than the one before it. I just want to purge it from my memory. Besides, the next time I get the hots for changing gear ratios it will be on a Ford 9-inch with a removable carrier, not a 10-bolt.

what's wrong with the posi? I think it'll fit the rear on my RS... If anything, I'll get you a case of beer for it if u're down for that. I'm 21 today!!! i'm sooo getting wasted...
Let us know if you're goin with that 9-inch too, cuz i'm curious as to exactly how much it'll cost when all is said n' done. So far the 10-bolt in the Z seems to be holding up ok tho.

Hey, congrats on 21! I can almost hear the hear all the beverage girls in Las Vegas lining up and crooning, "hi mister, what would you like?" Ahh the good old days in the casinos, waking up in the porcelain convertible...

Ok, the rear is yours -- bring your truck and take it away. The gears and posi are fine, but a bearing in the differential is blown out. Umm no beer please, I'm on a weight-loss crusade, heh. But a ride in your hot rod next time you do a test and tune would be appreciated!

Bringing a new Curry, Moser or Strange 9-inch into Oahu costs about $300 for shipping and $2,500 for parts, including having the Camaro disk brake mounts welded to the housing. But since I'm not racing, I probably won't get this big rear until after moving to Arizona in a year or two. We have two 4th Gen rears as spares for our 3rd Gens and this takes the immediate pressure off.

Not trying to hijack the thread but I got some stuff for sale too

Here are pics of a stock style replacement I pipe from Dynomax. Here is a link to the Dynomax site that shows application for this pipe. It's on page 61 on the link. The pipe is for 84-85 Camaro/Firebird, 2 1/2in pipe, & with a 4 bolt cat flange. I'm sure it could be modified for a different cat or just cut for not cat at all. $20 takes it!

To be honest...I really don't know lol! I'm sure it probably could but would require some fabrication to join to the two Cats.

Duck sez -- Sorry, it won't fit. I've got the single cat 3-inch Flowmaster exhaust on my '87 and dual cats/exhaust on the '92. Way different. I guess a creative welder could make it fit, but don't think you'd be happy with it! Anyone with a single cat exhaust should get this 3-inch Flowmaster setup, I really like mine and can highly recommend it.

Ah, oh well too bad... hehe, well if any of you guys see a dual cat setup for sale please tell me about it, I suppose I could have a shop fab one up, but that gets kinda pricey.

If anyone has a spare set of unwrecked ThirdGen A-arms sitting around, I'd like to get them to prepare for a full front-end rebuild.

This is to install the poly-Duralum bushings, paint, etc, prior to doing the job and thereby save down-time. If the donor wants, I can replace the received set with the ones that come out of my '87 IROC.

Flowmaster #17151

I have that same cat-back Flowmaster on my '88 IROC and I like the way the single 3" pipe sounds. The muffler is a 30 series and isn't so loud. So, if you want a lot of sound, this one is no where near a 40 or 80 series.

There's a lot of bass, no high-pitch raspy tones. When I start and idle my '87 5.7 in the dark a.m., it can be heard a couple hundred feet away and vibrates the house. While driving, it doesn't sound loud, but it is, 'cause it echoes back going though tunnels and overpasses. There's also a couple of loud reverbation points: the sound of the engine idling at 750 rpm can be felt by nearby cars; and 2100 rpm sends out another sonic shock wave of bass ... that's about 60 mph and gets a lot of attention from cars on the freeway. At WOT it is very loud and can be heard blocks away.

New stuff for sale. I'll keep you guys all updated when I get everything all cataloged. But for now, here's a pic of some dynomax headers with y-pipe. 1 5/8" primaries. 3" collector. y-pipe is 2 1/4" that y's into a single 2 1/2". The headers have the provisions for an oxygen sensor & air injection but both are capped off right now. Best offer!

I'm gonna give you guys first crack at all my goodies then the remaining will be put up on Island Previews for a little more.

If anyone is planning to upgrade 3rd gen rear brakes from iron Morane calipers to aluminum PBRs, I have an extra set of rear PBRs from a 4th Gen available. They're dirty and need to be rebuilt or can be used as cores for trade-ins. The core value is about $70 each. First $50 gets both of these.

Trans-Am parts

At the Schofield auto salvage yard, there's a red 3rd gen transam with a 140 mph speedo cluster and the really nice molded door panels with good looking top rubber. Might be other parts on the car FB guys might want...

Recently I saw two, both V6, one auto, one stick. I pulled the disk rear and front seats from one as a backup for my ThirdGens.

What parts are you looking for?

Sorry, these Camaros are 94-96 year models. I'll keep my eyes open for you on the later model clip.

Sorry, no. I know you're looking for 4th Gen Firebird interior stuff, but have not seen any of those [I paged u from the 'yard, thinking you might be interested in the molded door panels from the 3rd Gen].

No not me, though I am up at Scofield. Picked this 91 RS up real cheap last month but one wheel is pretty beat up, and I cant find one to match so was loking for a set of stock wheels. Looked around the island Friday but the yards here are pretty bad, couldnt find nothing.

The Shafter and Schofield 'yards are a bit empty for 3rdGens now, only 3 or 4 of them, but there's that nice red TransAm with the cool door panels, and I believe a Camaro with black interior for anyone wanting to change from grey or tan [like I did a few years ago]. 16-inch wheels don't show up there often, in the past decade I've only seen a few [I even had to buy a set of 16's from a guy in Texas]. BTW, S10 wheels fit and look nice on Camaros... There's a broken blue 91 with 16-inch wheels at AMR that I put a note on to buy it for parts, but no response. If you like, I can show you where if you'd like to pursue. I work at PAO, bld 580, 655-4376, give me a call if you want more details. Cheers, Ed
