I have the complete setup minus the pedals still attached to my 89 2.8 v6. 113,000 miles and it worked perfectly, never grinded gears or anything.

The S-truck T5 and the F-body V8 T5's are the same, but the V6 F-body T5 is slightly different. The V6 and V8 have different clutch discs, flywheels, pressure plates, and bellhousings. None of these can be interchanged. If you have a V6 car, you need to be sure to get a V6 T5.
