Help, need the center t-top bar

I am looking for a new nos or used mint t-top bar for a 1983 chevy camaro, the part that mounts to the body in the center of the t-tops. I was told by my local chevy dealer that only bars from the years 1982-1985 would work on my car. If anyone else has a car in those years and has used a later model bar from 1986-1992 and had no problems with it please post or pm me and let me know how it all worked out. Thanks for the help.

I have an 83 with t-tops that I'm parting out. I'll check tonight to see what kind of shape the t-top bar is in and I'll try to post a picture.

As you can see it has a small dent in the rear, but as far as I can tell it doesn't have any bad rust spots.

Thanks for your time and help, pics too. I found out from my local dealer the only difference is cosmetic, either one will work and mount to any 82-92. So I am going to buy a new one from them, thanks again.
