Need 700R for TH200C Replacement

I'm looking to replace the tranny in my son's 1982 trans am with a 305(5L). Anyone with a tranny better than a 200c that will drop in without a lot of mods, please email me at jogas@***.net
I'm in NE ohio and can pick up within reasonable distance.

I've got a th350. I used to have it behind my 406, but went to a 700r4. It has a shift kit. No problems..Would take $75 for it. I live in upstate NY. Will ship it if you want.. or meet you half way for the cost of gas/tolls..

I'm definitely interested in the TH350. The price will fit an 18 year olds budget.<lol>
Is it a drop in to replace a TH200?
How many miles on it?
How old?
How long has it been sitting?
Can you send me the tranny numbers so I can be sure it'll fit a trans am 1982 305(5L)?
Also send me the link for the th400.
Thanks for the reply,
Jogas

Transmission: Uumm that's contingent
Axle/Gears: See prior line
If your sons car has a th200C trans now, then the th350 will go right in.

hey jogas, i do believe the th350 & th200 are the same length. Will have to double check tomorrow on the tailshaft length, but I am pretty sure it is 6".

The trans has been sitting for a year. I drove it for a year b4 I removed it. Never gave a problem. I just wanted the overdrive b/c it was my daily driver at the time and saw alot of highway commuting.

Mileage, I honestly dont know. When I got the car it was in, the speedometer cable wasnt functioning. And I honestly never asked if/when the trans was rebuilt. It drove fine when I tested it, so I never asked.

You will need a converter, the dipstick & tube, mount, correct speedo gear for your application(tire size, rear end ratio) and detent cable. I dont have them anymore. Most all of that should be able to swap over from your old tranny. Your Shifter will work, and cooler lines too.. One thing I didnt mention b4, is when I removed the transmission to swap in the 700r4, I found that the top D/S bolt ear was broken off.. I didnt do it. It was like that from whom ever handled the trans prior. But it never caused an issue behind my 406. All the other bolt holes/mounting locations are intact. Unless you are putting some serious power, it shouldnt be a concern. The other 5 bolts & trans mount will hold it in place just fine.

I will email you tomorrow with the tailshaft length, and any numbers I can find on the transmission case. And also pics of the transmission itself so you can see where the bolthole-ear is missing. All it should need is a fluid/filter change and should be good to go.
