Re: One very sick GTA, I love it!

Just the specs on the car/engine etc.

The car's in Norway, IIR the country C, so good luck finding an interpreter. I have a friend who could, but it's all just specs, nothing more so...

86?...hmmm typo...or not a real GTA.

Sorry to be a nerd on this one but first year for the GTA started in 87...

Oh yeah and forgot to mention...it has the fender cut out's of a regular Trans Am

Not that any of that matters...it's still kick ***

Interesting videos - that car has too much power to be useful and it is obviously too heavy at 2000kg (4400lbs).

Finesse, not pure power is probably the best solution....

Re: One very sick GTA, I love it!

When that car was entered in the Silver State Classic, hecame in 2nd. Because it is an AVERAGE OVERALL SPEED race, not top speed.

Finesse is right.

Re: One very sick GTA, I love it!

If it does in fact have a5th gear than he is running a gear vendors OD which bolts up to the TH400/4L80E.

222mph on an unlimited course isn't all that impressive with about 900hp (or more). Then again tires don't hold together very long in a 4000lb+ car at 245mph.... EE boom

yea but think of the added weight of the s/c and the chassi work to handle 1400hp..

All of the safety equipment adds to the weight as well.
Also, weight is good when running at high speeds, keeps the car planted.

Re: One very sick GTA, I love it!

Regardless of whatever weight or hp that caris running - you gotta give them credit for coming up with that beast - particularly given the difficulty of getting parts for a 3rd gen in Europe.

Re: One very sick GTA, I love it!

There was a similar looking GTA, but V6 with Turbo, venting in the same area via a round tube... I like how this guy shaped it to the body...

Don't recall the v6 hp, but smoking tires aint going faster...

There are videos showing the underside of the car and engine. I think it was an TV interview.

4400lbs is heavy, but is better being heavy for high speed rather than having downforce by a wing.
