another question on cams
another question on cams
ive read post upon post about "blower cams" but i just cant find anything for my setup. i know i should call comp cams or elsewhere and talk to them but i live in hawaii and for some dumb reason, calling long distance is a b****. so anyway, i wanted to get some input from you guys as to what cam would be ideal for my application. heres the breakdown of my car:
89 T/A (L98), fully balanced 355ci 9:1CR
vortech s-trim @6psi, 24# injectors w/FMU
stock heads - decked/3 angle valve job
exhaust is all stock cept for gutted cats
rebuilt 700R4 w/vette servos and shift kit
3.27's in the rear
custom prom (as soon as i pick my cam)
despite all of the searching/reading ive done, im still a newbie when it comes to cam selection. so what do you guys recommend? my desired RPM range would be between 2000-5500 give or take 500. any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
my dads jobber has a cam from speedpro that cought my eye but i am not too sure of... 222/232 @.050 .479/.501 lift 114 LSA. Would this cam be suitable for my setup? If it is, would my heads accept those lift numbers?
woops, another question, i see that willie is using a 2032 cam, how is the idle on that? lol, what a newbie i am

Take a look at either the CC305 cam (220/230 on a 114) or a custom CC Xtreme cam .... most notably the 218/230 on a 114 (aka - the "Randy Cam").

I think you should run that by Trevor at vortech before you commit to see what he thinks.
