I got it from BadBoy86GN off TB.com who's right down the street. He "Upgraded" to the big mouth kit and I got the chrome MAF pipe, it's actually for a GN! I was surprised that it fit.

Roc87,your most likely gonna have to loose that wonder bar to get a scoop on there and put spacers in the sway bar - a GN scoop will fit you;ll just have to heat it up and mold it around the fan/fans

Tony we'll take a look at putting that scoop on this weekend, just remember to bring it with you

While I'm at it another update on my times - 11.78@113.26 with a 1.63 60ft all on 94 pumpgas in street trim it should go at least 11.50's when it gets back together and then onto to racegas and into the 10's

Fryelance, I've used that power adder before too!!

Tony, I spent 1/2 of Saturday installing my Walbro, what a PITA!!! That made a huge difference. Sunday night I dropped off the car at a friends house that has an exhaust business. He could only fit a 2.5 inch pipe attached to my downpipe which was cut about 6" from the turbo. Right after the pipe gets to the bottom of the car, it goes to my 3" exhaust into a "hollowed" out flowmaster w/ dual 3" outlets (X-flow) It sounds more like a 4th gen with a borla at idle! Both my GN and the Camaro seem to run better with exhaust......I'm still trying to figure out how to add that shroud, I know I need a different fan, the one on there doesn't seem to work too good, plus it's taking up too much room.
So, your shroud helped out a bunch huh? Did you cut a hole in the plastic flap under the radiator to better direct air to intercooler?

no i haven't cut the air damn yet, but i will.

but yeah the scoop made a nice difference, if i was doing 60 and hit it i'd pick up a few degrees of knock, now...knock is non-exsistant

oh and i told you the walbro was worth it

some of you know of my automotive background but probably none of you know that I also work for the union pacific rail road. so I would like to show my other power adder ride. it has 6300 horse power and 200,000 pounds of torque at redline 1000rpm! it has a 265 mm bore by a 300 mm stroke by 16 cylinders (bust out the calculators dudes!) as seen in the picture it has two hybrid turbo/centrifugal superchargers. they work as superchargers to a specific RPM to nullify lag and then the drive shaft clutches release allowing them to operate as regular turbos making about 40 psi of boost. the two turbos are about 4 feet in diameter. it is a 4 stroke too. it weighs about 200 tons when operating they are run in consists of 3 or 4 units for a whopping 18,000 to 24,000 hp and 300 to 400 tons of torque. but when you are transporting 15,000 to 20,000 tons of train they are no hot rod but when they are on their own the traction control and sanders keep the wheels from slipping/spinning when you ram them full throttle they accelerate like a 14 second car to the max limited speed of 75 MPH.

the vehicle you see is the only one I am allowed to use. when I was in the military I got my GOV military license suspended, they almost courtmartialed me. I got a ticket for 98 in a 65 (the gun actually read 138 MPH!) but the wyoming HP officer cut me the break of the century! he told me that it is charged as felony speeding and evasion for anything over 98! you would think I had learned my lesson but in 99 I ran my recently purchased ex HP camaro far enough past the 140 mph mark to past where the 150 mark would be if it was indicated there (we also stop watched a few miles at about 23-24 seconds per mile). that was the last time I went over 100 without being at the track. man you sure run out of deserted road fast going 150.

I only got to drive my bird for a little over a thousand miles, I had it for several months but only drove it a few short weeks. I got suckered into buying it thinking it was working perfectly fine, but then went the heater core, then went the power brake booster, then went the injectors, etc. etc. etc....

Hopefully soon I'll be getting my 86 Trans Am though, hope I have better luck!

that reminds of of my favorite magazine picture ever, about 12 years ago, it was a TPI installed in a mustang 5.0 with tools strewn about, and a can of budwiser sitting in the recessed headlight opening. if any one can get that picture and post it here it would be really cool and I would be very grateful.

If we reexamine the photo in question. Figure 1 is the U.B.O.W [unidentified bag of weed] Figure 2 is some sort of cheddar cheese product for the munchies. Figure 3 is necessary for controlling cottonmouth. Figure 4 is red locktite; which is necessary to keep the bowl tight.

Further object will be identified when the analysis is returned from NASA.

Man Shame all you people with those perfectly shiny beutifull engine bays and super huge boost-making-maddness.
Im sitting on a more traditional, cheaper power adder

Ah, can't beat that power-steering-pump-low-on-fluid-/roots blower whine can yeh?

You're getting a blower whine sound out of that B&M 'charger?
If so, how much and what's it sound like compared to a 6-71 or a gear drive?

Later,
Mike

Ah, Yes I get a blower whine from it. Rather, like I said, a Power-steering-pump-low-on-fluid whine but a whine none-the-less

I have a gear drive, an "accu-drive" from edelbrock, which is not NEAR as noisy as some I have heard, in fact its the quietest yet I've ever heard. I can barelly hear it over the engine, and my exhaust is pretty good and muffled. (3" horsepower eating catback) the "gear drive whine" is very similar to the "blower whine" but the blower is alot louder, in fact its very very noticable even at like 1-2 PSI of boost its pretty nice. It makes plenty of noise at 4-5 PSI however, and I can get more out of it with bigger pulleys. Compared to a 6-71? The 144 makes a more... eh... "high pitched" whine... not as "strong" or "low" as the 6-71, or near as loud. You cannot hear my blower unless im stepping more than half-throttle. even at idle, its silent. but you CAN hear it, and thats all that counts

Let them think that whine is a broken power steering pump. we will see whos laughing at the end of the finish line. heh.

roots blown big block... that must be a 177 CID blower? If not I had no idea they made a 144 for a BB chevy, will it actually produce boost on that engine?! wew and about the TBI why WONT you use it? Thats exactly what I plan on doing to mine when I get the $$ for the $1450.0 holley commander 950. the newer setups are 500% better than the old ones though, both tuning wise and laptop programing interface, and the unit itself has lots of changes like progressive linkage etc...
