What's your dream machine?

Hey,

I am just wondering, if you could do anything to your 3rd what would you do?

What kind of engine setup?

What body mods?

Thanks for your replies. I am just curious about what people would do.

Thanks:hail: :hail: :hail:

honestly......

i think i am building my dream machine. Not this season, but by end of next season my car should be dead nutz reliable and fast to boot for a street car

Would you agree Guido?

NOW

if you are talking about race cars.......well........you're looking at a tube chassis 3rd gen with a 91mm turbo on it, ladder barred and 10.5" true tires

7.70s or bust

i LOVE the NMRA SS/O cars and some day i'd love to make my camaro a version of it

Streetable. Stock body with 3" cowl hood. 434 Cube small block with all the goods and 15psi intercooled blower. 700R4. 9" Ford rear. And a streetable suspension that can put the power to ground. Dead reliable with a comfortable interior and low 10's all day. And a big breasted blond in the front seat. Also, I want $500,000 grand a year salary. I can dream right?

I'd go total sleeper. All stock exterior.

hmmm, then maybe a high revin' DZ302 out of a 69 Camaro, mod. to about 450hp, and a T56, bring the weight down to about 2800lbs, 4th gen Red leather interior, 3:73 POSI. That'd really light tires on the stock 8" rims!!!

Thats enough dreaming for now... maybe i'll buy a lotto ticket... damn! not old enough!

P.S. I would also take the old LG4 and T5 and put them in a Chevette, I don't know why

If someone has the $5,095.00 to lend me for the block and main caps i can get it started.

I think I would have to say I'm building mine now and should be finished by Super Chevy time. 1991 TT Z28 doing 9.50's on 17" Drag Radials and still have A/C, all the power luxuries, and leather interior. Only thing I'm doing to the exterior is a 4" cowl and a change of wheels with a custom paint job. I don't think that's too much to ask for.

well since i don't own a F-Body, my current dream car is under construction.. a G-body

Now if we are talking blank check....

mine would be a 427 AC Cobra SC replica with a 427 SOHC FE with custom 2X TBI fuel injection, T56, independant rear, halibrands, leather, black with "ghost" stripes....

nothing wrong with 3rd gens, its just what I would build.

I'd love to have the 632 cid Monster Merlin with custom EFI. 725HP and 765 ft-lbs on motor.

Sticking with a smallblock: The new 443 cid Motown shortblock, AFR 227 heads, MiniRam, twin turbos w/ electronic boost control, custom cam, an auto tranny that could take the abuse, Ford 9" rear w/ appropiate gears.

If cost were no object......

My 84 would be brought to 88 Sport Coupe specs on the exterior, except for that tiny aero spoiler, my t/a wing is staying (83 t/a)

Then I'd start on the engine. Most likely a mini-rammed 427 small block with a turbocharger, with a 6 speed. Out back, a 3.90 geared 9 inch rear axle with a detroit locker.

Suspension-wise, I'd set the car up for long distance racing (ie. Silver State Challenge), maximum cornering, top speed. I'd like to eventually take my 84 up to the upper side of 170 mph, if it's possible.

What I would do:

Pumped up version of Meany's TT Vette motor: 1700hp or so
4L80E OD Trans
Dana 60 rear (9 bolt ain't gonna do it)
335-17's all around
Super slick, yet downforce producing aerodynamics
Major suspension work
Big Brakes (I mean BIG)
Bring it down to 2500lbs or so

Hold on for 300mph, that is if you can get tires to handle 300mph.

If cost were no object - I'd love to get the motor they built in a recent issue of high performance pontiac into a light 89 GTA.
They built a 440" big block pontiac with an indian adventures block with twin 88 turbo's ,liquid intercooler, and a FAST ECM
1200hp on pump gas
1800hp on race gas(25#'s boost)
estimated 2100hp on racegas(30#'s boost)

Being realistic,an aluminum head stage 2 buick V6 that should find it's way in my GTA in the next two or three years.Probrobly 272-274" with a single PT-88 that should be good for 1000hp in race trim and 10's on pump gas, which is what I want scince I have no intentions of ever being legal for 9's or faster.

I would build a modern 302: 350 roller cam block with the little 265 LT1 internals with a LT4 hot cam. Maybe some AFR 190s and Offy crossram with some 2.13" TBs and a 150hp nitrous shot. Seriously pumped 700R4 with Hurst shifter ( hey at least I got the shifter ) and some 3.73s. I'd set up the supsension for curves, and paint in Viper Red with black gfx, and get some of those red/black leather 4th gen seats. Hmmm.. my dreams aren't that lofty, which is good 'cuz I'm actually gonna do this to my car.

Here is what I would do

94 - 96 Corvette, Yellow Exterior, Black leather interior
ZF 6 speed, drop the LT1( or LT4) and put an all aluminum 502 blown with 10 psi boost, AFR heads, angled milled 52 cc combustion chamber, comp cams roller cockers, and all the other goodies to get 1500 + HP, 9 bolt rear with 4.11, every comfort in the interior, straight pipes, no muffler... loud as fu*k

that is my dream car... and I also have another request kind of

I would park my vette next to my formula, far enough away so that when I rig plastic explosives all around it, and take out my H&K MP5 sub-machine gun, my new baby wont get hurt... I also want to say that I hate my car.. and I cant wait to sell it this summer and finaly buy my 92 vette, oh and one other thing... while my car is burning and being the pos it is, I would drink 40 beers so that I could take an hour long **** on the worst car I ever bought.......

since now we are off of just third gen dream cars. I would like to start with the body of a 98-up firebird. send it to the shop for just mini tubing, and basic subframing and interior caging tied to the subrames built by Mike Lupfer Enterprises in Arvada, CO. With a lightly narrowed 9" but with stock style suspension (except maybe coil overs) and tubular K-member front. for the engine would be a o-ringed deck gm 502 block with the crank out of the new 496 truck motor (4 3/8") making 540 cubes, eagle rods, SRP pistons, dart aluminum Big "M" heads, titan pump with billet fab pan (with *****), and MSD/Hamburger front mounted distributor. This would breath with help from a liquid-to-air intercooled procharger F-3 blowing through a sheet metal manifold running F.A.S.T. controlled EFI with 2 105mm throttle bodys. this would all run through a Dynamic racing transmissions TH400 with a Coan converter, and a carbon fiber drive shaft. Ideally the elapsed times on the time slips would read in negative (-) values (hey this is a dream car right)
