quickest 60ft on drag radials?

I just turned a 1.7 60 ft on my BFG`s . Has anyone gone quicker and if so at what psi are they set. On the street they dont like to be spun too much to grip but at the track i really need to heat them up to launch hard is this pretty consistent with everyone else. Mine are the 245/50/16

I got a 1.8 on clapped out 295/50/15 BFG radial t/a's (NOT DRAG RADIALS) then I switched to a real drag tire (et streets) and got a 1.5 on a 290 hp 305. I think drag radials are best utilized by fairly stock or mild powered vehicles, or in the groove at the drag strip on a moderately powered vehicle, or when required by the rules in a fully lightened race car (full bodied) with ballast in the rear raising the vehicle back up to class legal (3000-3200#) weight, with full after market control arms, springs shocks, subframes, etc. in all of these cases a drag radial will raise the vehicles performance from half track on. but unless it falls into one of those catagory's it might need; M&H racemasters, MT ET streets, or hoosier Q-time's

Check out the NMRA. I know a guy with a 92 LX notchback that runs 8.90's @155+ on BFG DR's - he set the DR ET record in 2001. Not sure of the 60' times though. My point is - they can handle A LOT more than most people can throw at them. Anyone who says they can't hook with them have **** for suspension.

My time was a 12.179 @ 113 .I feel they wont hold a wid open launch. I`ve been stomping the pedal halfway and easing into full throttle and feel the tires scratching. I dont want to go with ET Streets cuz I know my 9 bolt wont hold. Thanks for the help guys.

that is one of my points, he is one of my examples exactly (see above: "or when required by the rules in a fully lightened race car (full bodied) with ballast in the rear raising the vehicle back up to class legal (3000-3200#) weight, with full after market control arms, springs shocks, subframes, etc." is a perfect description of that guy's car. he is pretty cool, he also told us at the NMRA event in florida that he also runs a larger (not available to the public "no way-no how") size of BFG (they sent him an entire truckload of the last ones after they were discontinued) drag radial.

at the last nmca-nsca race in st. louis. jim filipowski went 8.67 @161mph on drag radials on the friday night of test-n-tune. track conditions were great and his 60' was a 1.38. if you go to nmcaracing.com check out the wallpaper and there's a picture of the car leaving the starting line. it's the 67 chevy II. pretty impressive what these guys can do with stock type suspension and drag radials.
