getting NOS what brand and HP?
getting NOS what brand and HP?
I do not want to spend over $550. What brand NOS and how many horse should I use? I want to use as much as possible without damaging the engine. I plan to run a fuel pump just for NOS. My specs are in the sig. Also one shot or dual shot? Can't I just hit the one shot twice?

well, NOS is a brand, I'm not sure which one is best (i don't have any yet)
I've heard anything under 125 hp shot would be ok for your set up

Its hard to say which one is best. I really don't like the NOS because it has a plate for the nitrous. My brother has the Nitrous Exress kit with the Shark Nozzle and he loves it. The NX kit comes with 35-50-75-100-150 nitrous jets too. It is also the cheapest kit from www.musclecartechnolgies.com for $460 shipped to your door.

The main reason behind dual shots, is for traction. The first shot will happen sometime (either immediately, or however the driver sees fit) after launch, and will be generally as high as the car can handle, without breaking the tires loose. Seeing as nitrous can make a huge amount of extra torque at low RPMs, it can be bad for traction in large doses.
Once the car is underway, and traction is not as much of a concern, the second shot is engaged.
Keep in mind, you basically need double the hardware to run a dual shot setup. Therefore it is more expensive. If you don't need 400 horsepower from nitrous, then I'd recommend a single. Common single shots can go as high as 250 horse, and I'm sure somebody makes a few that'll put out more.
BTW, don't call nitrous NAWWSSS or NOS (unless you're reffering to the specific brand name of Nitrous Oxide Systems.)
Or else.

That movie is about as accurate to car racing as Star Wars is to our current NASA program or Jaws is to marine biology.
As far as brands of nitrous kits... I like Nitrous Exress, also known as NX, pronounced N-X not nks.
Their kits are top notch and have better quality components for the same $$$ or less.
For a basically stock internals engine, their single stage up to 150 HP kit will do the trick.
You can get the NX kit mentioned above for less than $500, usually around $460-$499. I highly recommend getting a bottle pressure gauge too. It'll cost you around $35-$50.
See above
Traction will be a major issue. Odds are you'll be quicker with less nitrous than it should take to blow your engine anyway.
You don't have to with the NX kit mentioned above.
By "one shot or dual shot" I assume you mean "single stage" or "two stage".
A single stage kit has one set of solenoids, jets and fogger/s or spraybar. If you install 50 HP jets you get 50 HP worth of nitrous and fuel when you hit the button. If you install 150 HP jets you get 150 HP when you hit the button.
A two stage kit has a second set of solenoids, jets and nozles or spraybar.
You can use 50, 75 or whatever HP jets your car can launch with without smoking the tires on the first stage, then once you get moving hit the second stage to add more nitrous, like say to 100-150 HP or so.
Adding a second stage runs the price up to around $700+.

nitrous? what brand hp
as far as the hp settings go, you will have to look it up with the company that sell the kit you will buy, they will tell you how to jet your carb to the hp shot your using.... go with the single shot, theres nothing like your oppnent creeping up beside you and waving goodbye as you flick the switch!!! he he he as far as brands go, i had a factory flaw with the nos kit i got. the plastic hose underneath the metal one that clamps on to the fitting was'nt all the way on, it forced me to pull the hose off the fitting and put it back on using a clamp!! talk about a factory screw up, if it would have hit the hot manifold talk about a kaboom!! gas don't mix good with heat!!! anyway, i heard of a bottle explosion with the nx brand so be weary!!!!

They do make controllers, which can adjust the spray at different rpms and such. They are expensive, but instread of hitting the second stage all at once, you can fine tune it to build up the hp as fast as possible without breaking loose.

ther are two kinds of controller$, one pul$e$ the delivery $elenoid$, but thi$ damage$ them and they leak or fail, unle$$ you con$tantly rebuild them. the other kind i$ $taged but you need to buy almo$t a complete $y$tem for each $tage you want a$ well a$ the electronic$. I personally like to build power, then build traction, then build more power, then build more traction, etc.
