Those with carbs that have blowers
what are your cam specs, comp ratio and how much boost? thanks alot!
I have a hyd roller 238/244 dur @ .50, .520/.540 lift (with 1.5 rockers)and a 110 LSA. Would a blower work well with that? Thanks everyone!

it would help keep from blowing head gaskets

it would help keep from blowing head gaskets
in other words, No a blower would not produce desirable results with a 110 LCA on your cam. Not to mention too much duration.
The reason B4C said you wouldnt blow a headgasket as easy is because with a 110 and high duration you would not see very much boost.

So with 10:1 Compression and about 12psi Boost, what would be a approriate cam for a carbed application? Thanks.

hmm. with 10:1 compression you want about 3 psi of boost. im sorry up but any compression over 9:1 is unsafe unless you have a huge intercooler, and even then you need some serious timing retard and only 4-5 PSi of boost. I Run 8.9:1 blower pistons and cannot run more than 13 psi of boost (with 7* of timing retard) then my engine starts to heat up real quick (detonation is starting)

My bad, I will have 9:1 compression that will be intercooled. My current motor is 10:1, so same question, what would be a decent cam for this setup? Its a drag car so it won't be run for long periods of time and I don't think I should have a heating problem, thanks alot.

that will be intercooled then you cant run a blower setup.
I don't think I should have a heating problem
Any time you detonate you heat up. it only takes a about a second, and unless your car can do a 1/4 miles in a second, you will have a heating problem.

I currently use 584/605 LIFT 242/248 DUR @ 50
@ 112 LSA. 9.0:1 . tot timing 32 deg. no timing retard.
Reaching 10 lbs of boost using no intercoooler, the car is run to and from the track over an hour each way + alot of leisure driving still using the stock 2 core radiator. (but its about maxed out)
And best ET is 10.6 @ 128 all runs on pumpgas.

how well do vac sec carbs (like a 3310) do on the little blowers (142-177)?
Stevo, this is Brit...Anyway, the 110 lsa will be a little tight, but that is what BDS recomends for their blowers, and they are probably the best in the Roots style business. I know that you are going to run a Centrifugal, but boost is boost. They say the same thing about N20, but Wyatt is running that 180shot in the Imp and went from 13.0 on the motor to 11.5 on the squeeze. The 110 lsa may not be the best, but it will work. Also, keep in mind that with boost a cam with the same duration as an N/A motor will want to Rev higher so a AFR rev kit would probaby be a good idea with that cam to keep the valve's from floating. The boost difference will not be as extreme as some may make say. Let me know if you have any questions or e-mail me at irocfast@yahoo.com or britain.hirte@beale.af.mil if it is during the day.
B4C, as far as a Vac Secondary carb on a small roots style, it would be absolutely fine, a mechanical would probaby be better...however, Vac sec do not like centrifugal style superchargers.

I figured that on the centrifugals, I was just curious about the roots.
