Cam questions?
If I have this cam ( 211/225 483/520 113 sep.) will It allow me to run a more aggresive timing? without detonation?
I know that I have higher comp than stock and it will affect the looks on the ignition curve but how will the camshaft effect my tuning?
Im tuning my 383 with 10:3 in comp. and want to know how aggresive timing I should start with. Then I'm going to add 9 psi boost and let the MSD 6BTM pull back timing...........

More than what?
Probabily not. You'll probabily have too much compression
to allow you to run full timing on 92 octane fuel even without the blower boost. You'll probabily have to knock it back a few deg
anyways to like 30 or 32.
Plan on takeing out another 10+deg for 9 lbs of boost on your high compression ratio motor.
If you have an intercooler it will allow more timing without detonation.
All depends on what octane of fuel you are useing.
The higher the octane the more optimin timing you can run as well as more boost and compression ratio with less boost retard.
If all you can run is dsay 92 octane gas I'd strongly consider a
water injection system. (water/ alcohol) especially if you are not useing an intercooler.
Water injection does a good job of cooling the charge that enters the motor and supressing detonation.
Do a search on the net for water injection and turbo and knock.
Lots of info there.

More timing than stock. Does the camshaft affect the max timing at all?
and yes, Im going to use a intercooler.
The raseon I ask is that the instruction says that I should replace any aftermarker PROM with stock one. But this is if the engine is stock. Now that I have a aftermarker cam I wonder how it affects my timing.
