Higher or lower A/R ?
Higher or lower A/R ?
as everybody already probably knows I'm doing a TT setup or N20 setup. my questiong is about a TT setup. what would be a good A/R rating for a TT setup on a 5.7 liter TPI engine? I just want to know so I know what turbos to look at. thanks

two 49's with .63's would be a good setup.(considered mild compared to Guido's, but then again most are!!!)

The smaller the turbine wheel(.63) the quicker the spool, and you won't have to have a 3000+ converter.
If you combine too large of a compressor with too small a turbine it'll spool slow and take forever to reach full boost. If you combine too small of a compressor on a quick spooling turbine you won't get the top end outta it.......................
Go to www.turbobuick.com and do a search, it's a good place to learn a few things..............

I run two Hifi 60-1 with .59 a/r exhaust housing. The 60-1 from Turbonetics is like the TE62 from Precision Turbo. If you are going with a twin setup you don't want to go crazy large with the turbo, I would go with 2 TE44 or TE60 and no bigger than .63a/r housing on a SBC. I also run a 3000+ TC, good aluminum heads and a TH400 w/ trans brake.
Good luck
