N.O.S. or Nitrous Express N20 system?

I did a search and didn't come up w/ a whole bunch. what is everybodys opinion on NOS compared to NitrousExpress? NOS's kits would be $580 for evertying where NitrousExpress's would be $825. is it really worth the extra money? thanks

Josh

I have used both NOS and NX brand and IMO the NX kits are of far better quality. They come with much better parts and are very complete kits.

580 or 825?

Are you sure you compared equal kits?
I thought the basic kit from NOS was 550.

Its all what your willing to spend. N2o is N2o to me. Now some names are more well known than others. NOS being number 1, but don't rule out NX just because they are more expensive. Did you get that 800 dollar quote from the dealer or a catalog? I think they would run about the same.

IMHO, NX is much better then NOS. their quality seems much better and NX's 150 shot is more liek 150 to the rear where nos is 150 to the fly.

Just read through your post...

$825?

Uh. That's high.

The ave price for a NX 20920 kit is $460.
The 15lb bottle upgrade is $60.
Shipping is usually ~$25.

And, if you're going with a 15lb bottle, you'll need two bottle heaters.. otherwise it will never be up to correct pressure.
(check out www.speedshop.org for replacement heater pads, $59/ea)

What the hell kit were you pricing for $800?

Not a problem.. Try searching for an auction or two on Ebay from XSVn2o

He's who I bought my original kit from... Great guy. He will also sell you any accessories/bottle upgrades for their going price when buying the kit.

Ie: Win auction for NX 20920 kit. $460
15lb bottle upgrade $60
Iceman Purge $89
Shipping $25

http://www.stores.ebay.com/id=8672627&ssPageName=L2

is his store.. looks like his $533.52 kit includes a purge. Not a bad deal.

Ok I added it all up. and the kit on ebay doesn't include a Purge. but for $155 I can get the purge and upgrade to 15lb bottle. so totla price for NitrousExpress is

Kit = $533.52
Purge Valve & Bottle Upgrade = $155

Total For NitrousExpress = $688.52

Now for N.O.S.

Kit W/ 15lb Bottle = $580
Purge Valve = $95

Total For N.O.S. = $675

so basicly when it all comes down are only looking at $15 or so difference. I will be getting the nitrous express system, just thought I'd put this up for other peoples info.

NX also scared me off with the prices they have posted on their website. I have no idea why you can get the same kit for almost half when you buy from a distributor.

Thats exactly the point. They want you to buy from a distributor. Keeps the distributors happy, and they don't have to worry as much about shipping etc and payments from single buyers...

nither nos or nx make solenoids. they simply groupe parts made by other manuf. into a kit. if one kit makes more power than another its because your looking at the advertised hp figures. look at the jetting. tnt does this to sell kits also. they simply put bigger jet sizes in the system to make more power. i do however have to admit that my car picked up 12tq to the wheels simply by changeing from a nos 13700b nozzle to nx shark nozzle on a 80hp shot. i have an nos big shot n2o and a cheater fuel soleniod with a shark nozzle on the wet kit and a cheater fuel on the dry kit. they both have ther merits. i can hit the dry shot at 2200rpm and it really helps to let the car hook up before it really comes on strong. the wet kit will just break the tires loose.
