Will a vortech (s-trim) for a 3rd gen bolted work on a LT-1

My neighbor has a 87 Z-28 that he just dropped a LT-1 engine into. He is thinking about buying a vortech s-trim for a 3rd gen from a buddy of his, but he is not sure if it will work on the LT-1 engine. I know that the vortech for a 3rd gen sets up high on its setup where the vortech for the LT-1 setup sits down low.

First of all will this setup work? If so, is there major fabrication involved to make it work, or is there a bracket that can be purchase to make it work. Or is it not worth the time and frustration trying to get this combination to work. Any info. would be appreciated. He does not want to spend the money if the 3rd gen vortech setup will not work on a LT-1.

Thanks,

Chad

If he doesn't use the older vortech let me know I am looking. I would assume the way the brackets bolt up would be the difference, but it may have been space? Surely his buddy would let him bolt it up to see? If not I am in the market for one.
