Spark plug gap

What do I need to run for plug gap in my TT 350? It's looking good that I'll be able to start it up this weekend...

Thanks,

Most of the time bigger is better. You only have to worry when the boost is so high it "blows out the spark" Then you just need more spark energy. .025 - .030 oughta be a good place to start. A bigger gap means a bigger flame kernel which makes a better burn.

Cool, I'll start around 30 thou then... They're at 45 right now, I probably should have reduced the gap when I was running nitrous, but oh well...

Thanks!

Stock Dist. with Accel cap, rotor and in cap coil.. Taylor 8mm plugs with ACDelco R43TS plugs. I gapped them at .032 and installed them on Saturday..

before opening the gap you may consider upgrading to some sort of CD ignition box the digital 6 and 6al series are very nice. I ran into a situation where I have seen many of the boost refferenced 6BTM boxes quit retarding the timing as advertised So I went and spent the extra money and got the crane with boost retard, I would rather have the MSD but if it doesnt work then it doesnt work. I have a few of the MSD's in a box at my shop maybe someday I will send them to MSD so they can figure out why they quit retarding. a simple test of the boxes can be performed with a timing light and a mityvac connected to the pressure side instead of the vacuum for those of you who are wonderin what I am talking about.

Thats odd, because that would be the ignition box of choice when I upgrade... Second on the list was the Mallory Hyfyre digital ignition box.. It was fairly cheap and had a ton of extras..

Guess I'll investigate the Mallory first.. Thanks B4C

if you are not looking for a boost retard function then I would definitely go with the MSD as a general rule so dont rule out the MSD stuff. just the 6BTM model

Noted... But I imagine it will be a matter of the right price at the right time sort of deal..

I plan on running water/alc injection so my need for a timing retard is not as great...
