O2 senors with turbos

Hey Guys,

I have asked this question before. But is there any special o2 senor you can get to measure o2 levels for each cylinder of a v8 with twin turbos?

Any ideas or other thoughts?

thank you

I would think yer best bet is to go with a individual EGT setup.

Sure there is. All you need is eight of them.

FYI modern engine controllers can measure instantaneous crank speed/acceleration and compare that to O2 readings to determine if a cylinder is running rich or lean, and then adjust accordingly.

Umm...

I know it is possible without turbochargers. But do you need special sensors to use with a turbo. I was told o2 sensors are pressure senitive so should not be used before the turbo.

I typed this in your other thread about O2 sensors, but anyway, the O2 sensor is before the turbo in the TR's and TTA's and works fine. You can also build a wide band for about $200. I believe the Buick guys place them farther down in the downpipe. If you're really interested do a search over on turbobuick.com. Look for posts by Bruce (Grumpy over here).
