Nitrous..
Nitrous..
Had my first run-in with nitrous today... wow..
A guy I know has a pretty well modded '87 IROC, and just got a NOS (dry kit.. I think) system last night.. so today was his first chance to test it out..
We did 3 runs total on a 100HP shot.. no times or anything, but DAMN his car was gone once he hit the switch.. I really had no idea that stuff put out so much power, and for only $350..
I heard these systems work better on stock or near stock applications.. anyone care to comment on that?
Crazy stuff

Well, not really. You can run nitrous on just about any application you can think of. (I even put it on a chain saw once for giggles, didn't last very long, but was a lot of fun to do) A well modified car will actually do better because it will already have several of the modifications recommended with nitrous, like headers, ignition, maybe tougher pistons, dual patter cam, etc. Now a poorly modified car, or one that hasn't been tuned correctly for the modifications may have trouble.

I know tuning is crucial when running nitrous, otherwise the engine will be done for quickly..
His car has an built engine swap, headers, AFPR.. stock ignition I believe.. so I guess he's relatively safe with it as long as he uses it in moderation..
