BlownBirds car had me thinking about something I saw earlier today that I thought you guys would want to see... if you you think the other brand starting with an "F" is a dirty word, stop reading...

If you click on the concept lab tab and the engineering tab and read the text. It talks about the intercooling system their concept truck is using. Its got an air to water intercooler that uses the trucks A/C system to cool the water in the tank to abot 30 degrees F when under part throttle. Go to WOT and you can use that stored energy... Back to part throttle and it re-generates. They are getting about 50 more hp out of it. I've thought about this kind of thing before and I know others here have brought it up. Its nice to see someone has actually made it work.

I know the newer lightings have always had air to water intercoolers, and the new blown cobra's I believe has one too, but niether use the AC as far as I know.

I once saw a BBC with a huge roots blower on a drag boat with a big A/C pump on it. When I asked the owner about the pump he told me he didnt want to discuss it. I realized between the blower and the intake there was a huge block spacer which I presumed contained a evaporator. He started draping towels over it and a water fed box I figure contained a condenser that I hadnt noticed until he draped a towel over it. He started in with the towels when I stood there looking at it for a few minutes. I was a teenager so we are talking close to 15 years ago. I figure he was using the water from under the boat to cool the condenser and then super cooling the evaporator and the air between the blower and the intake on its way in. Smart guy...
