big diff in carb or efi turbo setups?
big diff in carb or efi turbo setups?
I was wondering it it is any easier or harder with either setup? i want to do a turbo motor and currently run a carb in the car. I have run efi forever and jsut swithced to a carb a little while back. The reason was for money and other things I had going on. What I want to know is should I just go ahead with what I have or will a turbo carb motor be a nightmare? anyhelp would be great

Both have their pro's and cons.. This is a excert from Mike Sitar.. (www.toohighpsi.com)
TT Capri
351W
8.0 compression ratio
Out of the box TFTW heads
2 - .63A/R 60 trim T3s
charge cooler
flat hydraulic cam - 216/228 @ .050"
Vic Jr intake (I think)
1 5/8 headers
600 DP
2.73 gears with 26x11.5 tires
TT Mustang
351W
8.0 compression ratio
Lightly ported GT-40 heads
2 - .63A/R 60 trim T3s
charge cooler
roller hydraulic cam - 226/226 @ .050"
351 EFI truck lower intake - custom upper
77 lb/hr injectors
1 5/8 headers
3.08 gears with 28x10.5" tires
Cars weigh the same. Tough to beat the EFI car off the
line, boost response is much faster (almost violent)
due to the correct A/F at all points and the ability
to have complete timing control. After the 60' the
cars are dead even. Made for some great heads-up
racing yesterday!!
// End excert
Turbo carb cars (blowthru) can be a pain to get tuned correctly, but so can EFI I guess.. I'm having a heluva time trying to get my blowthru setup tuned, but I'm thinking that it's my carb that's the issue right now..
Cheers,
