Turbos in need of rebuilding...
I have access to about as many turbos that I want. My buddy works for a guy that has about 100 International 4300s(I think) and they have a couple of big containers that are just filled with turbos. he says they need rebuilt but doesnt want to bother so they are just sitting there in his shop. He says I can have as many as I want.
I was looking on internationals site and couldnt find what turbos they use. So I have a couple of questions
1. What turbos are used in Internationals
2. In general, what does it take/cost to rebuild a turbo
3. How much could I sell them for(if you know what kind they are)
4. Are they worth my time to get them
Any info would be appreciated

Get me a picture or more info off of which engine, or send me one and I'll tell you exactly what it is. Most internationals overlap with Navistar (think ford powerstroke), though I don't know that any of them got the newer turbo setup. As far as I know most are medium size T04's. If that's what they are they're worth about $250 cleaned up and rebuilt (meaning torn down, cleaned, all the parts painted, rebuilt with new bearings/seals). Rebuild kits will be in the $60-150 range, but if you can get a source for the individual parts you should be able to get them for $25-35. Balancing will be another $15-25. The cores are worth between nothing and $25 depending who you sell them to (most places that deal with them buy them by the pallet by weight, I've seen them run for $1.50-3 per lb)
