ATI P1SC on stock third gen

Anyone running a basically stock engine with the 2 core 9 psi ATI P1SC. ??
Any problems with overheating ? What part of the country are you in, ambient summer temps ? Any other problems with the blower ?

Thx

there are a few that have close to stock L98 thirdgens running the P1SC i tend to look at people's sig's or even under there name for what kinda mods they have.

i plan to but we will see during the summer if i can gather up the dough.

i live on the east coast so warm to hot to very hot summers to cold winters.

most told me to go with the d1sc but i dont want high psi application just some boost to have some fun

the 2 core would be more than enough for me and hopefully not too much overheating will occur with a 180 stat, might go to 170 because of it and i dont have any a/c stuff.

Yes, I also plan on running that 2 core but am looking for others running it to talk about the potential overheat problems. Willie has said it will cause your car to run 20 degrees warmer.Don't want to go through the extra fabrication like Willie's twin IC setup.

I have an 8,000 mile '89 GTA and basically want to keep it stock except for the blower, remove blower some day sell car as an all original as in unmodified collector car. See my point.

So the 9 psi P1SC with 2 core IC will do me fine and probably will be unable to hold that much torque on the street tires anyway.

I have already dropped to a 180 stat and a Hypertech cooler fan switch since the Birds run pretty warm anyway. Pass along any info on a stock L98 with a blower if you find someone and thx.

Here in Michigan, we have a very diverse temp range, but i only drive my car in the summer months, i have noticed a increase in cooling system temps up to about 20*F, during the hot humid (85*F+) summer months with both fans running and the A/C off. i don't think that you will see a difference running the 2-core or 3-core as they will both block just about the same amount of air to the radiator, the 3-core is only slightly thicker.

As far as which unit to run, that's personal preference, i would suggest getting the D1sc, as boost is very addictive, you can still run low boost levels with it and it works just fine on the street, even on a stock L98.

Hey maniacc,
I've seen you car before, and loved the SC setup, but I hadn't noticed you being a neighbor till today. I'm currently downtown living off Wayne State. Are there any good third gen clubs around here? I'm lookin for locals guys.

Sorry for the off subject post,
Ryan

hahhah I can imagine that conversation when you sell the car. "so its all stock?" ..........."yeah, just had a 9psi intercooled supercharger on it for a few years, shouldn't hurt it."

Yes it would be back to stock and some like it that way especially with the low mileage....... and you know what with a 40 year old like me driving it the supercharger is not going to hurt the engine.

Thx for your help on this subject.........
