What is the largest size bottle that will fit in the spare tire well? Anyone have any actual measurements of NOS 15 or 20 lb bottles?

 

i have a 15 lb bottle in the tire welll but with the high flow end with guage the **** is just above the trim panel

I’ve put a 15# bottle in both a 3rd and 4th gen without anything exposed outside the trim panels. Fourth gens are a piece of cake because of the bulging quarters, the only real hassle is if it’s equipped with the 10 speaker/500watt monsoon setup and then your brackets have to work around an amp and 2 speakers. 3rd gens are slightly harder and I found work best if you carve a saddle for the bottom of the bottle to cradle it right by the body seam at the end of the well, and then I cut up and rewelded an NX steel bracket so the top side bolted straight to the spair tire bracket and opened at an angle so it could be loaded without any hassle. I suspect that a 20 wouldn’t be much harder (I’m pretty sure that it’s the same length, just bigger in diameter, the length was the problem). Oh, things can be put in much tighter if you put a 90* end on your N2O hose (no room for a 90* fitting screwed in the stock end) and if you us either a 90 or 180* end and some an-8 or 10 braided hose for the blowoff
