Grand national turbo?... looking for info

I'd like to know where I can find information about the compressor AND turbine maps for a 86-87 stock GN turbo. I've been looking for a while and have only found maps of modified turbo's and nothing on the turbine maps.
I've had ideas of a twin turbo 350 using grand national turbo's but have yet to find somebody that's done this. I know it's been done, it must have or where would these stock GN turbo's end up?
I've got access to a very nice piece of software for engine simulation and it would be nice to have correct maps to input, especially for the turbine.
Links to such info would be awesome, because I'm just turning up empty.

Thanks. I already looked through that site at least 40 times and came up empty handed. I've got compressor maps of just about EVERY OTHER turbo though , just not stock.
Thanks for the link to that forum, I just saw it posted on here a while ago and was reading some good posts. Seems worth a visit every once in a while. I'll try and e-mail him to see what he thinks.

I e-mailed a guy that said he had the maps but haven't gotten a reply and I doubt I will.
Anybody know somebody that might have those maps?

I’ve never seen the actual maps anywhere, but I’ve been told that it’s very similar to the T04 S trim.

If you do manage to get a copy of the actual map I’d appreciate a copy… or just post it here (or email it to me and I will)

I can't believe it's THAT hard getting this info. I mean really, it's not like these cars are THAT rare. I can see finding the maps for a GNX turbo being hard to get but the standard GN turbo's have been around for nearly 20 years!
I'll keep looking. My last resort is spending lunch time calling up some alumni contacts that work at Garrett and see if they can dig up the info.

Yeah when I looked for those maps I was told it was never released to the general public, but not sure if thats true. I was looking for them because I wanted to make a cheapo hybrid turbo for my Uncles Mustang SVO, found a deal on the GN turbo, and found out you could disassemble both (stock T3 and GN piece) and reassemble them together for a ghetto T3/T4 hybrid wanna-be type deal. It was not going to make loads more power, but would have been better than stock for cheap ($50 and probably capable of 20-30 more hp). Ended up the GN turbo was bad so it never happened. This was not the GNX turbo, or the older turbo from the non-intercooled engine. It was the regular intercooled GN turbo (sorry forget the model number).

As far as I know, the GNX used the same turbo.

And yea, it is that hard but I really don’t know why. I know that there is a map out there that has been “leaked” out by someone that shouldn’t have, but I haven’t run across a copy of it.

The earlier non IC engines were standard T3’s, either 60trim/.63 or 60/.82

I'll find it, just a matter of time.
The GNX turbo's were different. They came with lighter ceramic impellars and a few other minor but quality differences. Definatly a $$$$ piece and just recently saw one go for over $2000 nearly new (100miles or something).

The GNX has a ceramic impellar like already stated. Other than that it's really nothing special and not really worth the $$$.

I was goofing around and did a search on the SVO forums where I first thought about messing with one of these GN turbos and found the model number. Its the Garret TB0348 (TA48) and the specs are supposedly very close to the Garret T04B S trim. When asking for more information on making my own wanna-be T3/T4 hybrid I was told to go here:

http://64.225.76.178/main.htm

Maybe give those guys a call and see if they know where the compressor maps are (or have a copy). Hope that helps ...
