Ttz28 - 1, Th350 - 0

Had the car out last night and it was working excellent.. Had the boost set at 9psi and it was lovin it.. Unfortunatly, my tranny didin't.. About half way through second it craped itself and now I have no gears and there is a mild vibration.. There wasn't any fluid on the ground and there's still fluid in the tranny.. I'm hoping it was the front pump, or something else in the tranny.. As long as it wasn't my converter, I'll be happy.. The trans was fresh when I got it (7 years ago) with a stage 2 shift kit.. Probably wasn't 20k on it, but they were really hard miles.. =)

Time to upgrade to a TH400..

Cheers,

Sorry to hear about that. You subject line made me laugh (since I'm swapping to a TH350 right now). Hope the TH400 works out better for you!!

He he, thanks man.. I really like the TH350, and apparently it outlasted my B&M Holeshot converter.. Yeap, I took the tranny out tonight (record time, 1 hour 15 minutes from jacking, to sitting the tranny on the work bench) and all the converter's fins are dancing around inside..

So I guess I didn't give the tranny enough credit, that converter is "built to handle over 500lb-ft"... heh heh, yea right.. Ahhh well, time to locate a stall and put it back together before the weekend hits..

Cheers,

Got the car back together tonight.. Had to put a stock converter in to get me by for now, couldn't find a stall and I don't want to miss the weekend...

What a difference going back to a stock converter from a stall.. The shifts are a LOT more violent.. I forgot how tight they really were.. Hope the old 7.5 can hack the extra abuse..

i know they are expensive, but i would seriously look at ATI Performance Products for a converter. they are absolutely the best by far! my father bought one 16 years ago and is still using the same converter!

check 'em out man, can't wait to get my own.

Whew! Well at least it was the converter and not the tranny. Good luck finding your replacement!! Thankfully my TH350 will be sitting behind a stock N/A L98 hahaha.

mw66nova - I'll look into those, as well as all the others.. If I have to buy one new, I want it to be the last one I ever buy..

CrazyHawaiian - Thanks, there was some water in the stock converter that got all through my tranny... /sigh.. been flushing it for the last week and I think I'm finally getting it under control.. What a pain this has been..

89305RS - No track times yet, and none anytime soon since I know have a stock converter in the car and I can't launch at all.. And when I say "at all", I mean a K-car would 60' better than me.. It's terrible!

As for the website, you're right, it's long over due on an update.. I'll try and get on it soon..

Cheers,
Go for a Hughes converter. I know several holding up behind 10 and 9 second street cars, reasonably priced too.
