supercharger with stock computer tuning

supercharger with stock computer tuning

well i have a rebuilt 305 in my 86 trans am and i just converted to serptine belts and im ready for a supercharger i have been looking at the vortech and procharger do they come with computer chips or not also has anyone on the board ran a supercharger with a stock computer and how did it run
any help would be great.

Transmission: 700r-4 built by me 3-4 z pack
Axle/Gears: 3.42
i have a 1988 camaro supercharged with a paxton stock chip idles ok with 24 pound injectors times are 12.71 at 111mph on street tires.

You can run a supercharger on a stock computer to a point, after that you will have to start doing some custom tuning for injectors and stuff like that.

I'm running the Vortech S-Trim with the included FMU unit. As far as I know my ECM is completely stock. Like KS91Z28 said, the FMU unit will work up to a certain point. It will only account for the boost increases. If you modify the engine itself (heads,cam, etc) then you might want to look into re-tuning the ECM.

Are you satisfied with your paxton. A buddy is trying to sell me his, practically new. For my 91' vert 305TPI...

on dr i think it will run low in the twelves maybe i will have a chip made.one more thing is you don`t have to have the best stuff to run good times buying afr,prochargers etc.i like the paxton it is working good for me.they do have the vr-4 upgrade for 500 dollars and you will be getting 12-15 psi of boost.still running the first trickflows
