you are supposed to use special oil of some sort and paxton sells/sold "paxta-trac" fluid you should be able to find some using a google search. I thought they used some sort of ATF but I cant say for sure. If they do then I would be curious to see how "Type-F" would work.

DON`T USE PAX-TRAC FLUID WILL MAKE THE SUPERCHARGER OVERHEAT BECAUSE IT IS A SYNETHIC OIL AND WILL MAKE THE ***** SLIP.USE ONLY TYPE F TRANS FLUID AND CHANGE 3,000MILES OR TEN RACES.NO B&M TRICK SHIFT TO

Paxton also went so far as to say that you should use FORD BRAND type F...NOT Valvoline or other brands...Supposedly the other brands could have some additives that could cause them to slip>>> I dont hknow how true it was...
Paxta Trac...LOL....I ran that and never had a problem...Iusually mixed it with type F... That Blower ran HOT no matter what you ran in it..Hence why they sold oil coolers for it..
AND for alll the haters that say it overheated the blowers I ran it straigt up for years...started mixing in the end after paxta trac was hard to come by... I purchased my paxton in July 1996>>> To this day the blower still works perfect>>>second owner still has it... IT HAS NEVER BEEN REBUILT... It was a FREAK..

It uses FORD TYPEF ATF (tranny fluid)... BUT valvoline and others make a TYPEF... ORIginal Paxton company specified FORD brand only because of additives in the fluid of aftermarket brands...
OH and BTW..change intervals...I changed mine EVEY time I did an oil change..

oh btw on rebuild kits, how hard is it to rebuild one? Or should I just switch to a gear driven? Everyone seems to be hating on the ball bearing =/

I bought mine in 1996>>>> A friend of mine now owns the blower.... TO DATE its never had a rebuild...MINE is/was a freak...
Guido blew up 3 in a matter of about 50 miles... My car despite having waaayyy less in the mod dept was waayyy faster..
Mine was built by the original paxton company/owners.. Once The company started to split as I understand it the whole company went to hell along with their knowledge/quality control...
Someone psted on here a while back about a company that did rebuilds for HALF that of paradise wheels>>>paradise wheels now owns all of the old Paxton ball drive service/units... I just dont remmebr who it was>>> I also remember reading here about a guy who rebuilt his himself>>> I NEVER took mine apart...Never had a reason to...
Mine outlasted my stock bottom end, rear end, and transmission... ..
As far as switching to a gear drive>>> its probably a GOOD idea down the road... I had a Paxton and S-trim vortech at the same time... Just the amount of POWER it took to turn the paxton versus the s-trim was reason enough to switch.. you can feel it spinning them by hand>>>big time...
