the turbos are ct-12a so hopefully they will spool faster than 1 or 2 big ones

That all depends on whether you have access to/skills to use a mill. If you don't, i'd give up and just buy them (if available, if not have them made). If you do, making them is very easy (for a JY caliber setup that is). I just laid some paper on the flange on the turbo, traced over it to get the lines, then transferred that shape to a piece of 1/2" scrap steel and cut it on a mill.

o-ring and gasket is personal preference
those are a hundred or two less than the ATI ones
although the new ATI one has a special air dam in it to prevent the air signal in the carb from getting screwed up by the rushing air

it merely is an obstruction right in front of the air hat inlet that forces the air to flow into the carb from the perimeter of the hat as opposed to just tumbling in from the inlet.

I've had this for oh... last 5 years or so, although the single plane intake & throttlebody hat went on this spring (as the super ram came off).

Properly sized, a nice twin setup will spool just fine and make gobs of power. And, will be a LOT easier to set up. Hell, we're getting full boost by 3,500 rpm with twin 60-1's on a 383. Perfect for us, that's where the cam starts to work anyhow....
And yes, 8 psi will work on hypereutectics, we've been running that for half the summer now with no issues, although, we do have a forged crank. Just keep a watchful eye on your air fuel. Hyper's like to disintegrate when pushed too far. A wideband will be your new best friend
