i was wondering...whats the best cam i can get for an 84 z28?..i'm lookin for something that will fit the stock engine with no need to replace other stuff. i'm already planning on a cat-back system an new filter. an also what HP gains should i accept from a better cam..

I bought a summit racing cam for my old 84 t/a.It made a huge difference in power. The part # is sum-1103.

also...do any of these cams give it a good loopy sound to the exhaust?...not that this is the only reason i want a new cam...i want the power...but i LOVE the sound of a car just idling with a cam.

 

Mine gave it a deeper kinda lopy sound.

 

summit 1103 here..nice blub blub at idle. I keep it low around 600 so it sounds intimidating. Screams like a beotch from 3500-5500
