what dizzy with an 8/71

I have been told that no distributor will work with a mooneyham 8/71 blower, and that i would have to run a front drive.
I don't want to get a smaller blower because i already have the 8/71 i,m sure i have seen cars with 8/71's with normal dizzy,s.
Any advice would be helpfull.
Thanks

Jeff.

Its true you cant use a standard distributor with some FEW 8-71s (depending on manifold positioning etc and blower casting). Most blowers when you go from 6-71 to 8-71 are usually longer in the front only so you wouldnt really have a problem.

I would get a manifold for it and mock up to a standard distributor and see if you can get away with it. Most likely you can, thats the general rule of thumb with 8-71s. Buy a BDS manifold they sit a little further to the front than mooneyham ones (specially the mooneyham competion series manifolds they sit way back).
If not what you will need is an offset distributor unlikely but can happen. Talk to BDS about one in the unlikely even you need one
