ok guys i want to add nitrous for some added power by next summer. my question is if i just run lets say a 75 shot will it make a big difference and will my stock pistons and other internals be able to hold up to a 75hp increase without any damage?

 

I have a 75hp dry shot of nitrous.

Works awesome. Went from a 14.3 sec in the 1/4 to 13.6(g-tech times).

I added a bigger fuel pump for safety.

The stock internals will hold it if you do it SAFELY!! AND SMARTLY!!

You'll be fine. Don't use platinum plugs and retard the timing about 3*. Get a fuel pressure safety switch and a bottle heater. They are worth their weight in gold.

A 100 shot is a lot more fun. Pull another * of timing out for a total of 4* and run a step colder on the spark plugs. Remember to gap the plugs at 0.035" Do NOT the stock gap or larger, you run the risk of blowing out the spark and running into problems.

 

yea ive heard about not running platinum plugs. so looks like ill need a new set of plugs and ill have to retard the timing. and about fuel pressure if i run a 100 shot for added kicks would i need to adjust my fuel pressure? i have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator so its no big deal if it needs adj a little

I had a wet kit. I used the 50 and 75 shot w/ 93 octane, backed off timing, and stock autolite plugs. I went to 100 shot w/ less timing and it detonated. So changed to a colder plug and it ran great. Went from 13.4 at 103 to a 12.4 at 109mph.

Dyno'd 267rwhp and 356rwtq. On the jug
361rwhp and 551rwtq w/ the 100 shot. It hit well.

When I tried to spray 150 she backfired through the intake taking some pieces w/ her. It was my own stupidity (bad tune), but it didn't break anything major.

I got tire of going slow, so I built a real motor and put a direct port 200-600 on it. Separate fuel cell w/ C16 and a timing control in addition to the progressive controller. Best part is.......................you can't see it. Any of it.

Oh and the other question, I would always run a wet kit. But that's me. Bumping up the pressure isn't going to hurt, but the kit should supply enough fuel as long as it's set up right.

 

I ran a 125 wet kit on my 350 and never had any trouble. I made sure it was on the rich side with a higher fule pressure setting. 46psi

 

your rims are 16"?
