Nitro on TBI ?s
Ok, I want to get an entry level nitrous kit for my 92 RS, it has the 305 TBI, stock bottom end and 140,000, still running strong.
I was wondering, I have a throttle body spacer, would I have to get a different one for the nitrous, or could I just drill out and tap the one I have?
Also, I've read that a stock 305's bottom end can take 100 shots pretty well, with good gas, but will it be alright for my engine with 140 thousand?
Sorry for all the newb
questions, Thanks for listening.

I used an NOS kit on my old 305 TBI. The kit plate uses spray bars to help the dispersion of the gas. If you could duplicate that setup, you could make a plate out of a spacer. Of course the N2O plate acts as a spacer anyway. I think it would be easier to just use the NOS plate.
As for the engine, I had over 200,000 on my 305 and was hitting it with a 120 shot, and it never winced. If you do everything right (follow the instructions, make sure you have enough fuel), you won't hurt the engine at all.
There are more myths about nitrous then facts.

thanks for the information.
What do you mean by enough fuel? Are you saying to make sure the engine isn't running lean?
I was just wondering, cause I didn't want to waste 120 on the spacer for nothing, I guess i could sell it to a friend.
I would like to learn as much about this as possible before I make any decisions, thanks for the help,
Kyle

yes, be sure you have adequate pressure and flow. I think the kit I had called for 15-20 PSI under WOT. The stock pump in my car did the job with a 100 shot, but above that it was a little lean. you might want to invest in an aftermarket pump or a booster pump.

run a 10 gauge wire to the fuel pump and wire in a 12v 30amp relay using the factory wireing to activate the relay. you should get at least 20psi out of it. make sure you use a 10 gauge wire for the ground also.
