vortech supercharger question
I was wondering why the vortech supercharger kit was for 88-92 camaros? What makes the 85-87 not compatible? My thought was it has to be speed density but that only came on 90-92s. so any help would be appreciated

From what I can figure,it is because they,(superchargers) need/use the serpentine belt system..
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong

does your belt setup have a seperate belt for the p/s pump? cause if you have the pulleys i think you do, then technically, it's not a serpintine setup. 88-92's only have one belt for everything. the supercharger kits are for the motors with driver's side alt.

dude, just by a frickin' conversion kit from hawks or thirdgenresource. they sell complete kits in jegs too. since you have 3K and all, you can afford to do it.

are you talking about a serpentine conv. kit? I alllready had my mind set on the 383. Ever heard of Golenengineservice.com? Thats where i plan on picken my crate engine from. They have quite a few TPI crates. Check it out if you get a chance

Power adder, not an engine swap topic.

It is the belts that is the problem. Simply issue to solve, go to wrecker, get new brakcets and pulleys. I believe there is also a fuel issue relating to the Vortech kits.

whats the fuel issue that you would be talking about. The pulley and bracket swap looks like a breeze after checkin out a few kits last night.

if you call them, they probably have used kits too. they come with EVERYTHING you need. they used to sell the kits with used parts, want to say you got everything under $300.

sounds good to me. i would imagine they might have been talking about upgrading the fuel pump or just adding an inline with the intank.
