Ran it at the track... (video)

Here is my car at the track in it's now detuned state-it only made 530 at the tires on a Mustang Dyno, which is still pretty strong for pump gas. The car was running 315/17 BFG drag radials, my usual road race suspension, and as you can hear, it didn't hook too good. It was still skating around through the traps on the top end.

The truck in the other lane is my Powerstroke turbo diesel. I am driving the truck, and this run is on diesel fuel only. I have a NOS dry kit with a .125 jet, and a Snow water/meth kit that I need to try-as soon as the head gaskets are repaired (too much water/meth). The truck weighs 8458 lbs. btw. I run in 4X4 too.

Enjoy!

IROC vs Dually

Some of you boys better step it up! LOL

12.7 @ 124!

For comparison, my AWD Talon ran a 12.4 @ 111.

BTW, Mustang dynos usually read a decent bit high compared to Dynojets, but I wouldn't doubt that it puts down almost that with 124 mph traps. Awesome.

Actually, Dynojets read high. I put down 649 on a Dynojet....

Hrm, I guess it depends on what model Dynojet and other conditions too. Every dyno event I've been to has people putting down a bit more horsepower and a ton more torque on Mustangs with the same setups. It's annoying that (even 'corrected' figures) vary so much from dyno to dyno.

The Dynojet was a 248c

The Mustang was a MD-1750-DE.

Anyway, that is another debate altogether. This about who can beat my dually! lol

LOL

My '89 (which now belongs to my dad) ran a 14.1 @ 97 mostly stock so I guess that loses, hehe.
I posted my 4-banger's current best already, so
We'll see how my new '90 IROC does as soon as all these parts that are laying around get installed. All I can say is I'll be very upset if it doesn't beat a high 13.

That a fast truck for weighing nearly 3 times as much as either of my cars.

Read above....
I was driving the truck
Obviously, the car is not set up to drag-and the track was greasy to say the least-If I didn't launch in 4X4, it would have been the same in the truck.

Here is the timeslip:

Car........................Truck
R/T.....316..............082
60......2.506...........1.882
330....6.149...........5.602
1/8.....8.745...........8.750
MPH...95.51............77.57
1/4....12.704..........13.797
MPH...124.90..........96.80

Not to make excuses, so I emailed my brother to ask about his poor driving! He mentioned the boost tube blew off the first pass, then the pass on tape the hose clamp stripped, and he used a rock between the tube and remaining threads to hold it on-didn't exactly make full boost if you know what I mean.

I am not sure what it weighs, but I'd guess 3500. I am really only posting for entertainment purposes. It does keep pulling right to 170 MPH when it is at the rev limiter in 5th at 7k.

The truck has a little more than a "box" LOL!

I was looking at the Iroc pics on your web site. Specifically the pics of your old stealthram install. How much did you mill off of the intake to get it to fit under the custom strut tower brace ? Or does it just fit because of your non stock hood?
Really nice car by the way.

Kory-

The Stealth Ram was the stock height-we made the bar to go over it, and the cowl hood gave us the extra clearance.
