50-75 shot??

Hey guys I would like to buy the edelbrock kit cause its adjustable under 100.. all I want is a 50 or a 75 shot at the track. Now with a shot that small do I just back off my timing 2 degrees total?? Is there anything else I should do ?? I am running cast pistons also shoudl i rethink the nitrous thing or shoudl i be fine?? thanks alot guys

Your cast iron pistons should be suffiecient, because a shot that small is usually shot through a V6, so I think your alright there. Im not really sure about the timing and stuff.

I don't think you would need to retard the timing...I have been resaerching this stuff. Most say that you only need to retard your timing if you go to about a 150 shot....I hope that helps.

i have a few questions.

1. Does nitrous "add rpm"? i know it will climb faster, but it wont red line higher will it?

2. On a stock LG4 (4bbl) what size shot would you recomemned?
50-75?

DO NOT rev your car higher on nitrous. The stock rev limiter will lean you out and your engine will blow. If you have a manual car you should get an enrichment rev limiter. Yes your revs will climb faster because you will be accelerating faster . Nitrous adds torque out the wazoo, to answer your first question. Like I said before I ran through about 50 lbs of nitrous doing a 135 wet shot on a TBI 305. So, with a wet kit, you should get away with at least 100. 50-75 is a honda shot and you will want to change the jettings ASAP if you set it up on a v8.

Who ever told you that was playing a practical joke. Your revs stay the same and your torque will increase over the rev range. Nitrous is an oxidizer that presents more oxygen than air so that you can burn more fuel with the same size engine at at given rpm.

50 or 75 extra horsepower will put me about at the 500horse mark when I am all done here and 11's is my goal so i'm gonna play it safe with the little shot.. so retard it 2 degrees??

yup retard it 2* deg for every 50 it also probably wouldn't hurt to jump down one heat range on yours plugs. Now would be a good time to have new ones.
