Need feedback on turbo sizing w/mods
I am currently putting together my list of what I will need for my turbo install and I have a couple of questions.
I am going rebuild the bottom end of my current engine and lower compression to about 9:1 - 5.7, Superram, AFR190, current cam is the SLP dur 218/224 lift .495/.502, LSA 114 deg, w/ auto transmission
I am looking to produce 8-15 lbs of boost. Probably start out around 8lbs and work my way up to 15 lbs if not getting the desired results.
Questions:
1. What cam recommendations do you have (I like the grind I currently have but probably need one to make use of the boost & 10deg between open/close)
2. Is a single or twin turbo a better choice. I want to retain all my accessories but at the same time want to produce enough boost to feed the engine since it flows nicely already. Looks like a group purchase may start for single turbo headers that works with accessories. Any thoughts?
3. Any suggestions on turbo sizing and/ or injectors?
I'm looking to stay away from FMU and instead use properly sized injectors w/ ECM to manage fuel delivery.
Thanks!

A T4 sized turbo with either a 70 or 72 mm compressor wheel would fit that engine really well. Also, I should add that with a 350ci engine, you should probably go with either an .84 or .96 AR exhaust side. The .84 will allow the turbo to spool quick but will limit the top end production of the turbo, while a .96 AR would allow you to reap more from the turbo at the expense of low end spool up. However, with a V8, the spool should be minimal.
on camshafts, a cam with about 220/220 or 222/220 duration would keep you managable and somewhere in the .530 lift range since thats where those heads generally max out. 114lsa will keep it easier to tune and keep the boost from blowing through the combustion chamber.
B & G headers makes headers for thirdgens but I think there is still an ongoing discussion whether or not they fit with the accessories.
Good luck!

Great feedback and I spoke with Brian at B&G earlier today. They currently have single turbo manifolds they are developing to work with a serpentine belt setup (looks like battery might have to be relocated on pics).
I was looking at the T70 with either .84 or larger. I am not anticipating the need to rev my engine higher than 6000RPM so should I stick with the .84 or go larger as you suggested? My engine currently makes lots of torque down low so I don't know if quick spooling is that much of an issue (also I have a Vigilante 2800).
On your feedback you recommended cam duration..... My current cam is ballpark close in specs but would it work as a good boost cam (Also I run 1.6 rockers for higher lift). Or do I need to look at an entirely new cam made for boost?
Thanks
Brian

It would work and youd probably be happy with it but if you swapped it out for something more along the line of what I suggested, you could appreciate more gains from it.
On the exhaust side, it really doesnt matter. Id probably stick with the smaller .84 that way you are making the most of what you have. Since you have TPI you wont be spinning the motor real high, like you mentioned, so that turbo would likely work out good. Master power makes a decent sized turbo that you could pick up that would likely work out great for what you are doing.

For injector sizing with what is mentioned above would the 57lb or 60lb injector be a better choice? I would be using the $58 code.

As advertised it look like the 57 has a narrow spray and the 60 have a wide spray.
Also any suggestions for a good headgasket to be used with forced induction?
