The biggest difference between the F1 you have now and the F1R is that the volute on the F1R is .75" larger. I'd also be curious to know if it fits.

The F1C also has the 9.75" volute like the F1R.

I guess a regular F1 is "small" in this thread I tend to use ATIs bracket with additional support...for a start....

I don't think the D1/F1 bracket is compatiable with the F1R/F1C unit since the F1R is slightly larger. From the way the other thread made it sound Larry designed a custom bracket and send the plans to ATI so they could produce them on a special order basis.

Hey fellas just got off the phone with ATI they said the housing is slightly bigger but the internals are the same. Then they directed me to Larry at ASSC.Talked to him for a little while he makes the bracktry to do bigger blowers but to do so you have to run cogs give up a/c and p/s.This may not be worth all the effort.Have to think about this one for a little while. To see if it's worth giving up a/c.Gets HOT in the south

Did Larry also tell you that with the cogs they suggest you run an ATI balancer with a specially fab'd(bigger) hub assembly that requires a modified timing cover AND having your crank snout double cut to run 2 keyways?

They suggest this because otherwise, the balancers have a tendency to have a very short life.

Problem doesn't exist with the 12 rib system.

Things may have changed, but at least that was the topic of one of my last conversations with Larry.

Hey thanks for the reply.Yes I had a long conversation with Larry. He told me about the ATI bbc hub and running cogs.Right now he's running a F1 on his car.Even told me he could save me some money if I went with a F1R he would set it up with ATI since he is a dealer I can just send them my head unit they make the change over to F1R.Still thinking about it right now will make finale decision when the time comes.Need to finish motor first
