Mini-Ram 383 & nitrois ports

Hi,

Getting ready to install externals on new 383 already Dynoed
at Hp502/Torque507 Injected TB and Dyno headers.

Will be using Mini-Ram SVO#30 and 58 TB.
On down the line would like to be able to run Nitros if I want to.
Before installing Ram would like to drill and tap holes into runners
and then plug them for future use so wouldn't have to remove
intake on down the line.
Pain in the rear the way its setup
What size hole-thread size and placement would be best and has
anyone been there done that?

Any help or suggestions appreciated. New to NOS but think
would rather go with port setup with wet kit.
Tried to post pics of new motor on stand but file attachment to
big. Will try to change camera setting.

Thanks

I wanna say they're 1/4" NPT for the nozzles. Where you place them is up to you. Just remember you have to fit injectors, solenoids, valve covers, fuel rails, and everthing else.

Drill now and plug, that way you don't have to do it later. But you have a Mini ram, so it's not like it's real hard to pull that intake anyway.

Nitros Ports MiniRam

Hi,

Thanks for reply.
Found a couple setup pics on another site and see what you
mean about the solenoids and hardware placement with the
port setup

May need to get hold of NOS and see what they recommend
as to this manifold and setup.

The setups I looked at were LT1 &4 but basically the same
as to plumbing. Maybe think about a wet plate setup but hate
putting a restriction in front of the TB. If I drill, tap and plug
going to have mock up on the engine stand as to getting the
nossles angled correctly for clearance and such.

Getting ichy to drop this thing in and if problems can always
pull intake if I go that route.

Thanks

Nitrous MiniRam

Hi,

Thanks for reply.

May see if I can get just one wet noozle to use as mockup
as to angle of hole placement.
Can't afford the system right now as have pretty much maxed
out this projects budget. Won't talk about the other halfs opinion

Also just got done looking at a NOS Cold Fusion kit for a LTI
that could apply possibly
Setup to 200HP.
Really not looking at more than that, as Show and some Saturday
nite activity. Already sitting on 502 all motor.

May find friend with CNC Machine and do it rite when time comes
as to perfect angles and alignment. Have nice drill press but not
all the tooling.
Kit advice also appreciated

Thanks
jaykar

Most of the standard port kits come with 1/16 npt nozzles, the big ones are 1/8. You'll probably have to contact one of the nitrous companies for a 1/16 tap.

Nitrous

Have all the taps.

Just wondering how Busy things are going to get behind
#3 and #4 cyl with all the hardware.

Showcar and like things nice and neat, althought running
2 1/2 Harwood lid so that opens room up top for solenoids
and hardware

Running close to 11 to 1 but cam setup fine on static comp
for pump gas.
But if could go back, would have set motor up for turbo or
blower.

Going to go Nitrous for sure but just have to figure out the best,
safest and most practible way to do it with 200 max setup.
