Turbo and ECM question..
Turbo guys... i have read people say that you dont have to change your ECM if you do a turbo on your engine, just add an FMU.. and then i have read that people say you need to switch to the 749 Sylcone/Typhoon ECM in order to tune properly..
so which is best?

Lots of variables, but you can go much further with the 749 than with the stock ECM/FMU combo.
FWIW, my daily driver Z24 and my weekend cruiser TT IROC both use stock ECMs and an FMU. Super easy to install/tune, and has been pretty reliable for me so far.
An FMU is really only acceptable for up to 10psi of boost. I run 6psi though my TT IROC-Z, and 10psi on the Z24.

With the $58 code you can tune both timing and fuel under boost. With A FMU you just controls fueling.........
If you are in to DIY Prom- go for $58 code, you wont regret it......

I forgot to mention the timing asspect. I used a MSD BTM to detune the spark curve for my TT IROC. The Z24 uses the stock timing curve, but it was very mild from the factory, so detonation is avoided just by running premium fuel.
I would love to get into DIY prom tuning. Its just that it is not my area of expertise at this time, so thats why I went with the FMU.
