Will a timing retard box work on our cars?

Will a retard box such as an MSD actually pull any timing out of our cars like for boost or NOS? Or will the ecm just compensate and add it back in?

This is on a TPI car.

If not, what do you guys do, in such case? I am looking at running N2O and trying to figure out how to get the timing back with out haveing to burn it into the chip, and running with a lazy timing curve when not spraying.

Totally correct. The timing retard box is installed on the ECM output so it has no way of knowing the timing has been altered.
