building a nitrous motor

ok so im going to build a 355. plan on putting eagle esp forged hbeam rods, and esp 4340 forged steel crank. and a set of forged pistions. and the gm fast burn heads. with accell dfi system. now i want to build a daily driver with about 400hp at the wheels. and i want 500hp at the wheels when its time to take it to the track. now how do i go about building a motor to withstand nitrous. and also compression ratio. is a nitrous cam street friendly? so if you all have any tips that would be great. are there any kind of special pistons/rings for nitrous? i want to be able to run a 2 stage set up maybe 50 off the line and 100 once ive hooked up. i dont know to much about nitrous other than its an awesome way to keep streetablity.

thanks

You are on the right track with the forged everything in your setup. The compression should stay below 9:1. I believe you're supposed to increase the ring gaps. Why are you only running a 100 hp shot with this beefy engine you are building? Most people agree you can go a 125 shot on stockers. As for the cam I would call up crane cams or comp and ask the techs what you need and they will get you part numbers.

You should also get a window switch (RPM activated switch) with your 5 speed tranny.

running larger rings is a MUST for larger shots. you should b able to get that horse power range at the 9.5 comp. i am running 11.1 to 1 compression and spraying a 350shot . and have a friend speaying 300 on a 13.5 to 1 stock bolck 400 . at a 100 shot you really dont need to do much , a step colder plugs that are gaped to 30 r a good idea. get a cam with 110 to 115 lsa and they do work fine on the street. a window switch is a good idea with a stick , if it bogs it will shut the nitrous off. safer on motors that way.
