go with the edelbrock victor series racing pump...rated at 130gph with 13-14 psi and the part # is EDL-1711.

a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator would come in very handy too.

i already bought and put on a holley 110gph pump. do you think that will be ok to use with the blower. i would hate to have to run a return line and buy a regulator. but i am the type to do it once and forget about it.
what exactly is a holley blue pump???

That should be fine. I use a Carter 110 GPH mechanical on my 142-blown 383 Malibu.
I do use a "helper" electric pump back by the tank, however. That long draw from the tank through a skinny fuel line is what really cuts down a mechanical pump's capacity. If you find you're losing fuel pressure at the top of 1st or 2nd gear (that's where it'll drop off first) at WOT you should consider an electric "helper" pump, too.
A Holley Red pump (7 PSI, 92 GPH) works great and requires NO regulator- the mechanical pump up front will do what little regulation is required.
I'd HIGHLY recommend you get a cheap remote fuel pressure gague and mount it somewhere you can actually see it while you make a few runs. I temporarily duck tape it to my windshield just for a few runs to confirm I'm not outrunning my fuel supply at any point in a run. That's easy to do with a blower. And the consequences of running a blower motor lean are FAR worse than a N/A engine.

thanks, damon for the info. i will look into the helper pump as you said. i also plan on running a fuel pressure gauge (autometer) inside the car via diaphram to monitor. i think that would be a wise choice. i planned on running -6 stanless line from tank to carb with all an fittings. think that will be ok???

just want to give an update on the pump, damon. i bought the holley red pump and a holley jet kit for the carb. just wondering if there is a certain distance to put the pump. thanks for all the help and will keep you posted as i continue the build.
I mounted mine back by the tank, bolted to the back/floor of the trunk- but this is on a 78 Malibu with the stock cross-flow muffler long since removed. If you're still running a muffler mounted transversely behind the axle in your Camaro (likely since there aren't many other choices) you might have to figure something out. Not sure how much space is back there. Build a bracket or something to fit it where you can. Just make sure the axle can't hit it when it comes all the way up and that the exhaust can't rub on it if it wiggles around a little.

thanks again for the help. i do have above the axle to mount it there, so i will take that route. nothing should be in the way of the pump. i was thinking of getting a rpm module with a low chip to run the elect. pump just in case the car stalls so it won't be pumping. also was thinking of running a priming switch for cold start up instead of pumping. any comments/help are welcome.

Just trigger the electric pump off the ignition- that's how mine's set up. That will give you the early morning prime you're looking for just by putting the key in the RUN position for a few seconds before you go to start it.
Don't worry about running the electric for short periods of time with the engine turned off. The inlet valve of the carb will keep the carb from flooding for modest periods of time- maybe a minute or so. Obviously, you don't want the pump shoving fuel against the inlet valve for extended periods of time or it will eventually flood out, but if you have any common sense at all you'll probably never get in a situation where you leave the pump running with the engine off for a long time.

the engine is still not dropped in. i have almost everything i need except for little stuff. fitting, fuel line, vlves covers.. i have been waiting 11 weeks for my afr heads to put everything together (way to long- hope they are good) the old engine is still in the car and need to take it out soon for the lakewood bellhousing to install the flywheel. it just never ends.. i will keep you guys posted on the progress over the next few weeks. with 9.1 block and 74cc heads where do you guys think my cp would be around?

Doesn't really matter anymore as far as this thread goes, but
years ago we did an NA carbed smallblock in my 87 Firebird , I tried to use the Victor series pump and ran into problems with the pump, being so big, hitting the stock K-member...had to do some serious tweaking to the K-member, but even then it wasn't right. Ended up going to an electric pump. So, good choice on the electric pump, imo...
