i really hate to be repetative
Sorry bout this guys but i have a setup question that after much reading and learning i believe is my final choice for my power maker in the bird
i want to do a:
-383 stroker w/forged internals
-9:1 compression
-either twin or one big intercooler
-bbs designs twin kit 62-1
-turbos and headers ceramic coated
-headers heat wrapped plus heat wrapped piping where needed
-a great airflow setup with constant air flowing through the engine compartment plus a flexolite 3000 cfm fan and aftermarket alum. rad all for cooling
-a nice BOV as well as a electric cut out before the mufflers...if i keep the mufflers
-im also thinking about possibly spraying the intercoolers...i imagine spraying directly into the intercooler is best...was curious about purging into the intercooler from the front...not sure which would work best....ideas?
-run 10-15 psi boost with boost controller for daily driving
-ill also be running a ported superram and prob AFR 185-195 heads not quite sure
-deleted a/c of course
-o and dry sump for oiling
-if im missing anything plz let me know
i just want to know opinions any suggestions and cam info...i am trying to learn cam specs but its not real easy to understand i know i dont want anything too far from stock
also what would be better this turbo or that turbo

for nitrous- id say run a 2 pt system.
1. an i/c spray bar to help cool the charge.
2. plate system behind the TB- not a big shot- just enough to cool it off a little more and give u a better kick when racing.

Some good ideas there. About the only thing I would do different is ceramic coat the pipes instead of wrap them. Wrapping them works great, but they work to good at keeping the heat in and eat the pipe from the inside out. So every so often you will be replacing those nice custom pipes. Race car great, daily driver with alot of miles no. Second I would put alky injection nozzle in front of the turbo intake vs. the intercooler. More effective closer to the source to better atomize. Shooting it through the cooler with all the piping would be more chance of the alky disipatting(sp). Ugh can't spell today.

Oh man my bad. I thought you were talking about alcohol injection in the coolers. No I see you are talking about N2O. In a simple form alcohol injection is like a poor mans intercooler. Though in some situations it can be more effective. It helps cool the combustion chamber charge when mixed with your fuel and air. There is abit more to it than that , but that is the simplest example I think of at this second. The alcohol (just in front of your intake )gets sprayed in and mixes with the fuel and air to create a more detonation friendly fuel. It will allow you to run more boost than if you didn't have it.

so what about the alky injection plus the intercooler? or N20 and intercooler? which would be more effective for cooling combustion temps and allowing more boost?

it will be an EFI Superram setup ported i will have my setup so that my powerband is within the superrams perfect reach...right between 2 grand and 6500 rpms....the power curve should be perfectly matched with the superrams power qualities
also how much does alky inject cost? where do you get it? and how easy is it to install? is it safer than nitrous?
yes the timing will be retarded i cant remember how much i was going to do bc a buddy suggested like 3 degress from TDC i think if that sounds right
if your talking about a turbo timer i dont know anything about those what do they do?

I think what he was asking was how do you plan to manage your EFI system? It looks like you have alot of the hardware listed, but no info on what you plan to do as far as ECM or tuning.

i would probably opt for an accel DFI system w/msd ignition and have it tuned accordingly by a professional much better than myself...sorry if im still not answering your question
also would run high flow injectors and an aeromotive fuel pump setup or possibly 2 or 3 cheaper/less powerful fuel pumps in unison...combined
probably the aeromotive though for better efficientcy and less problems

Yeah that covers it, quite a few people use DFI. Be aware that the Aeromotive pump (external pump) will probably require that the gastank be sumped, and to take advantage of the advertised flow rates and whatnot, you'll probably need custom fuel lines the length of the car. I was not aware of this when I got my Aeromotive pump, you can imagine how ticked off I was. Just add a few hundred to what I had planned to spend, no way! I could have just used AN fittings to "step it down" to work with the stock fuel lines, but then according to the Aeromotive documentation, the size of the stock lines would not have been able to support the flow I would eventually be wanting to use (with my next motor I have planned going in). So for now this is on the backburner, going to do the entire fuel system at one time when I do the intake and ECM conversion.

nice yeah ill probably just order their complete fuel kit for like 600 bucks or so...they give you pretty much everything you need but im sure something wont work out properly haha theres always something
im also going to use an aftermarket fuel cell and relocate the battery to the back beside the fuel cell...divided and boxed...dont want any sparks near the fuel eh
