Vacuum operated accessories under boost?

Can someone explain to me how vacuum operated accessories such as a distibutor still work well under boost?

You don't want vacuum advance under boost, any more than you'd want it at WOT in a NA car. In fact, you probably want the timing retarded. Before electronic boost-retard boxes came out, you could get boost-retard/vacuum advance diaphragms.

So can I still run a vacuum advance distributor? With a BTM? Or get a mechanical one?

I don't even know if you can still get mechanical boost retard cans, an electronic one would probably be better anyway.

You'd still have a vacuum advance can for part throttle advance, but under boost the BTM would be retarding the timing.

I see. Im planning on running water/alky inj. I need to do some more research though. I would think that I wouldnt need a BTM if I did that. Thanks for the help.
