turbo ?'s

Well ive been really thinking about doing a turbo setup on my rs.But i cant get any deffinite answers on the right size turbo. So hoping somone can help me out.I had originally planed on doing a twin turbo setup using two TE04H's but there just isnt enough room on the driver side of the engine compartment to do that, due to the ac and ps pump.So i have to go with a single turbo setup.would a single TE04H be big enough to run 5-7 psi on a 2.8,( as far as i can tell it was used on various motors from 2.0 to 2.5L) or would i just end up spinning the turboto fast and ruining it?I want something that will spool fast.or would i be better off going with a t3/t4 (as the motor sits now its has 10-1 compression, lots of port work to the heads ,manifold, radical cam (248/258 @.050 500/520 int/ex) 3,400-7,500 rpm 3,000 stall converter and custom chip. im going to get another set of heads to port, and put back on the motor to drop the cr back to stock).

Any help would be greatly appreciated

10:1 compression ratio is pretty high for a turbo. Not too high, but it makes tuning difficult and dangerous on pump gas.

This is no "right" turbo for any engine. There are various sizes that would work. I would write more but that flashing car picture was freaking me out.

well ive been told that that turbo i found on ebay is a good turbo to use for this. But i still need a few things answered

1. With the single turbo setup is it better to run the turbo off one ex manifold or should i run it off both( im quessing running it off both would spool it faster but create more back presure)

2.Does running larger ducting from the turbo to maifold help any say 3 inch compared to 2.25 inch?

3. Do i have to modify anything that is vacum operated (i.e pcv system, charcol canister etc?

4. Will a reg adjustable fp regulator work, or do i have to go with a boost referenced one

5. I currently have a 100 shot of nitrous (wet system) on the car which i wont be able to use once the turbo goes on.But i was gonna drop it to a 25 shot for the intercooler effect.Right now i have a spacer behing the tb with the nozzles is it fine in this location or should the nozzle be moved into the ducting infront of the throttle body?

thanx in advance for ur help

you ever seen a compressor map? you can do them for your engine. and a turbo that big prolly won't spool till later(lag) but i'd need some specs on it. I have a cavalier with the 3.1 thats built and prolly couldn't spool that. but a compressor map would be needed.

answer to following #'s
1. both manifolds thats a given duh
2. i wouldn't run 3in charge pipes, depending on the amount of boost you run and ect play a roll
3. i would runa catch can with the pcv
4. depending on your fuel setup a rrfpr is something i'd go with
5. idk nitrous systems sorry
