Hey guys. I just realized the funds on my beautiful 383 are going to be cut short so I would like to put a supercharger on the 350 and then probably just move it to the 383 when I had the money to finish the project. The 350 was completely rebuild 7k miles ago so the motor is very fresh, but as far as I know, none of the short block has anything stronger than stock.

This worries me obviously because I've seen enough blower-equipped cars that always had the first engine blow. So how many psi can I run with my 350 w/out the worries of kaboom? Just to be on the safe side I'd plan on getting a timing retard controller.

You can run either a 9# procharger w/intercooler safely without a ignition retard or you can run a 6# vortech kit which comes with a ignition retard box and no intercooler...both kits are comparable in cost...it's up to you to decide which kit you want...i just recently purchased a 10# ATI procharger (D1sc) for my 88 iroc...which for the most part is stock except for the exhaust system...I'm hoping to run in the 12's....but only time will tell...
