Nos or nitrous express???

[B][COLOR="DarkSlateBlue"]
Wanted to poll you guys on what you thought was best for a tpi wet kit...NOS or Nitrous express?? I was told by a few friends that nitrous express has surpassed NOS in these type of kits. What do you guys think?

I got the NOS kit and it installed perfect and I haven't had one problem with it.

All the kits are good, all pretty much the same deal. Some 'rate' at the flywheel others rate at the wheels, all that means is that your spraying a bigger shot, means nothing at all. dont buy NX just because there '150' shot puts 150 to the wheels, all that means is ur spraying a 200 shot and calling it a 150 boom..

I use NOS, cuz i got it cheaper then NX. But like i said all are good, NOS, NX, ZEX, etc. get what fits your budget.

I modified my kit. I used the Single Shark nozzle and used the larger Race solinoids with a -6 feed line. On the dyno, with the 175hp the car made 196RWHP GAIN. I back to back testing(10 hours worth) a -6AN Feedline is worth 25 RWHP Gain over a -4line. I guess that would only work with the larger race solinoids and woundn't see that much of a gain with smaller solinoids.

That also was on a almost stock TPI, with small cam and headers on 93 pump gas(with the stock 6 degress of timing ). I ran 2 steps colder plugs and gapped them at .020.
I had no knock what so ever.

Is it true that only NX has an adapter plate that bolts to the throttle body vs. drilling the hole and screwing in the nozzle. Just wondering if NOS offered this TPI plate.

Sounds sweet Thats a pretty heafty shot, just make sure you watch your A/F closely just to be safe cuz like i said they call it a '175' shot but it is bigger than that. Not that its a bad thing i mean putting out bigger HP numbers is always a good seller but if u ever actually measured your nitrous and fuel jets and compared them to say the NOS jets your 175 shot is like my 225shot. But nice gains especially on a TPI setup And EGR or a wideband is always a good thing to have on ur ride when usnig that much nitrous

N2O

I took the motor out...I got tired of running low 7's. We have a local class here and most of the cars were running 6.80's. I decided to see how much a SpeedPro Hypereutectic can take. I put the 250HP in and dumped some unleaded racing fuel and pulled a few degrees of timing out to be safe....That extra 75hp felt great.....it wasn't clean up top, check a plug and ran it 2 more passes. 3rd Pass the fire ring on the headgasket started leakingon # 7. I figured I would have a few melted or crack pistons...they looked great.

I wished I just replaced the headgasket and tried again to see how much that little motor good take.

I wish there were local classes around here like that sounds mad fun! But between gas prices and having another "toy car" (69 camaro) i decided to keep the iroc a 'street' cruiser and make the 69 a street/strip car, hence the ls1/t56 goin into the iroc.. keep up the good work, sounds like a strong car u have there

Thanks

For what I had ..it performed well. I don't think I am ever going to get done with it. Finally dropping off the Little M for machining and O-rings

Kinda wish I went the LS1 route..

is the stock fuel system/air inlet strong enough to handle the NOS kits at 100/150 with mainly everything else stock except exhaust?

would it be wise to get jets one size higher on the fuel side to make it slightly richer or would the ECM lean the injectors out?

I want to set her up with N20, but concerned about it killing the motor.

yeah i know the timing, plugs, etc...

what kind of improvement would it get?
i would also use a window swtich too

What do you guys think about Compucar Systems???

I bought a Compucar bottle, 10ft of line, both N2o and Fuel solenoids, and a NOS Fogger EFI Tip for $157...

I still need some stuff to hook it up.. But what do you think about them???
